Great opportunities!

My understanding is that there's a strong demand in many countries. When I was in Vietnam last year, many expats were there teaching English. There's special courses you have to take to establish the credentials. A good resource are the English language newspapers in each country, which will have job openings listed and other good advice.

A question for you experienced Asia hands:

What are the  opportunities for teaching English as a second language (ESL) in SE Asian countries, e.g., Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. (NE Asia, too, actually, i.e., China, Japan, Korea).  I am contemplating retirement, and would love to relocate to Asia and teach English and enjoy the local ladies up close and personal, week in and week out.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
