I saw this report blasted all over the news channels yesterday. It will most likely cause the price for Viagra to shoot through the roof, back to $20 per pill.

You have some good points, Steve. Just because a product is generic doesn't keep its manufacturers from artificialing raising the price, especially if and when the laws of supply and demand make it financially tempting to do so. If the name brand sildenafil prices shoot through the roof for whatever reason, such as the Alzheimer's relief factor, it goes to follow that the generic versions might also increase too. Even if the genetics don't reach $20 per pill but the brand named ones do, theoretically the genetics could become a lot more expensive than they currently are.
Name-brand sildenafil has been priced "through the roof" since introduction. I suppose it could shoot up even higher, but ... sheesh! $20 per pill isn't a future threat, it's past reality understated.

Thank you, Valida, you are much better informed than I am. I do not buy Viagra or Cialis or any other name brand sildenafil product, so I am unaware of their current prices. I inquired about them over a decade ok and found out then that they were beyond my price level. I was under the impression that I'm recent years, the price had fallen below $20 per pill.
prices could go up, down, or sideways. It’s theoretical so why worry about it? Let’s see what happens to the cost of generic sildenafil. If it gets anywhere close to $20 a pill, you can post here again and say “I told you so!”
