I'm cheating a bit here as I am 51 yrs old...but I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes after having several symptoms- excessive thirst, weight loss, fatigue. Should I expect to have ED problems at some point? Or is it a hit and miss side effect with the disease? So far the med and a diet change are working well as far as my numbers are concerned.

IF you keep your numbers good, you'll be fine and won't be any different than normal aging.  If not, then its the silent killer for a reason.

Exercise, eat right, etc.  Also, IMHO, don't be afraid of insulin.  My only regret is not getting on insulin sooner.  I was having a hard time controlling my sugar levels, but am good now.  I travel a lot, and its hard staying 'good' when you're traveling for work.
