Doesn't that means a mature hobbyist is more likely to have STD? - eom

A couple months ago I slipped bareback into a local mature provider, and found it kinda thrilling.  I rationalized it on the basis that she's not a crazy young thing, and  I'm thinking of doing it again.  What do you think?  Would you do it?  Or is this another case of a trick thinking with his dick?

Thank goodness she has not been posting as much as when she first showed up here.

...10 years when my last relationship broke up, while bbfs sounds tempting the dangers to the whole P for P community are far to great, now if providers will use F C as far as I am concerned the fucking is just as good as bareback.

She provides an echo of the concepts in the OP without expressing a firm outlook, so that the reader can  judge for themselves.

It is quite sophisticated.

I'm quite smitten by her dadaist tendencies.

You decide. A mature provider has had more opportunities to pick up a gift for you from somewhere.

After rock cliimbing for 25 years, i made a super veteran mistake and didn't sew up a very easy but long climb wiyh orotection in the rock. I ran out 30 feet of climb, I slipped on this stupidly easy climb and fell 60 feet

In climbing circles theres a saying,

"You have old climbers and you have bold climbers, but there are no old, bold climbers. "

It's a numbers game and the more of a thing you do the higher, not lower, your individual risk.

Obviously , I am a risk taker, but only when the benefits outweigh the costs and frankly for me there is nothing valuable enough about bb to justify the risk, not just to myself but to others.

Its barely worth it for bbbj, but i relented reluctantly, because the market didn't support that.  LA is one of several hot spots for the epidemic of antibiotic resistant strains of oral STDs. So to mitigate that I don't allow CIM. We really should push back against CIM, bareback, etc. Its not lile OSHA is going to come to the rescue. No one is, least of all the clients. So, providers have to keep pushing back. Such a bummr thwt it all feels so adversarial.

I am constantly shocked at how cavilier some are even thougj the risk taking here involves other people. The tragedy of my climbing fall is the tremendous danger to rescuers that a pick-off (cliff rescue) like that
Of the dozen or so rescuers, almost all were under 30. I was devastated that I caused them to be at high risk. To me that is the most aggregious thing about my accident.

To think I would contribute to someones suffering from an STD because just want what I want and devil may care?

I can't really get with that.

Excellent post for all ages. STDs aren't airborne. They are like wasps; you don't want to bring them into your house.

Shana, I think your response to this nails it.  Especially for older guys, that extra thrill can be particularly tempting, but it is, of course, a huge mistake because there is no way of telling, from external appearance and behavior, what the true risk is in any situation.  You seem like a really humane person, and I liked your site - I would be honored to get together with you if I'm ever in your area (I live in southern Oregon).  So best to you.

The way I see it - any provider that will let me BB - I don't want to spend time with because I KNOW I am not the only one.

Not to be harsh but.................

The reality is that all of this, while fun and satisfying, is risky business -- to relationships, family and health.  I wouldn't consider BB under ANY circumstances.  In fact, if I read a review that a provider allowed it, I cut her out of consideration.  Unfortunately that doesn't keep me or anyone fully safe because guys who have seen a provider that allowed BB are potentially passing on the risk to other providers, to clients, and so on, and so on.  In my view, to keep all of this as safe as possible, we should all agree not to see providers who allow BB, hence weeding them out of the hobby.

A discussion I'd had with a Dr. about STDs one day, was that seniors are high risk for STDs because no one wants the hassle of a condom due to ED and also that they think somehow their companions arent "sleeping around"

Better to use a F C. (female condom) and spare the community and yourselves the worry.

I liked the story of rock climbing in relationship as an analogy. Bolder or older? Id rather be older and wiser and not compromise anyones, least of all my own, health and enjoy being "older" .

If shes a mature provider who is risk taking and doesnt test, sure. Ive not had anything communicable and test frequently. Its up to us to set the rules, though and if I were a gentleman I would not see anyone who was okay with me going bareback. Im not a porn star and the guys arent either. I suppose people could show one another their tests, but I still dont trust that, either. Id rather be safe than sorry.

I decided to quit smoking 30 years ago, but that's just me. Lots of people continue to smoke knowing it's bad for their health. I don't judge them because I know how hard it is to quit. I think bareback is similar. Some people find it hard to stop.

What do I think? I think it's best not to do it if you can stop. If you can not stop then I think you should find someone else. She's too risky because she let you "slipped bareback into" her without asking you to get tested first. If she's doing it this way with you then she's probably doing it this way with others as well. I would suggest that you find another provider and ask her first if she's willing to go bareback with you. If she ask you to get tested 1st and is willing to get tested herself then you can do it with her. If she doesn't ask you to get test 1st then it's no go. It's still risky, but I think it's safer this way.

what difference does it make!  At our age, by the time it becomes a problem, we could be in the ground because of something else!

So spreading something to others doesn’t impact your thinking on this?  There is only one side of the transaction to consider?  Yours?

My question is why women don't use FC.  It is intuitively obvious that the FC is far safer and almost as good as BB.
Wouln't that help everyone.

So let's say there's a relatively low chance of getting HIV, and I believe that. OK, so mayyybe, just maybe you might be OK. Now, what about: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Antibiotic resistant Syphilis, and a ton of other bugs that are out there that guys who get around either get or pass. You're really always better off to go with a female condom, or a thin condom with a little lubricant on the inside.

When I do this, I've had to pull out a few times to make sure they were still on, but still got to go home worry free. Trust me, you'll love bareback right up until something happens and then you'll be kicking yourself all the way to the clinic.
