How many of all us depraved and lecherous  women and men were involved in Scouting when young? I'll start with admitting that I had a lot of fun and went through to Eagle Scout. In fact, I still have my scout manual from 1944.  A scout is  trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous,kind, obedient,cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. As a monger, I only have to strike out the thrifty and reverent parts.
I haven't payed much attention to scouting for the last 10 or so years but their stand on gays and lesbians turned me off.

I doubt that it ever has. But, I imagine some of the older guys were in scouting.

And attended the 50th anniversary Jamboree in Colorado Springs in 1960. Except for some occasional songs around the campfire ( "bang, bang Lucy" somehow sticks in my mind), I didn't even know that girls existed and certainly had no idea what all the banging was about! I've since learned!
