I`ve really been wanting to try this drug after researching a lot of info on it. I asked my GP about it and he`d never heard of it so I moved on to my urologist and saw him yesterday for his spin on it. Turns out he thought it would be a good thing for me to try and he has seen some success with others so he wrote me a script for 5 mos, one mo at a time. Told me to start next week then see him in 90 days and we will re-evaluate with another T- level blood test and discuss the other stuff, libido etc.
If this drug can really raise my T-level back to where it was when I was 30 than I better start earning more money to pay for my hobbying. I cannot tell you how much money I have blown on supplements with little results. Maybe this might be all I need. I will update you after trying this for a few weeks and seeing if it has helped or not. Wish me luck, lol
I thought I saw this drug Clomid (Clomithene Citrate) mentioned on one of the boards the other day so I Googled it. (how did we ever exist before Google?) I read many tutorials and physician opinions on this. It`s a fertility drug FDA approved for women but is also "off label" and is being prescribed for men with lower testosterone levels. From the stuff I read and the You Tubes I watched this Clomid could be the new Fountain of Youth for increased libido for many of us seniors. It`s an estrogen blocker which signals the pituitary gland to make more testosterone naturally rather than injections or with the gel. None of those for me thank you.
At 72 my total T level is 372 which my Dr. says is good for my age. With 100 mg of Viagra I can perform well and always please my partners but not always myself and sometimes experience some side effects. I would love to get my T levels back up to 5-6-700 like they were back in my 30`s, and who wouldn`t? Anybody have any experience with this or can put a spin on it? Seeing my Dr. next week and will ask him for a script, if he says no I`ll just ask a different doctor. Thinking (hoping) I could be on to something?
It makes the free T go up and usually helps you lose weight. I have two older friends on it and loving it. Both men have had their T levels go up 5 times and it makes T go up naturally. No side effects from what they say. Apparently it is easy to get from online doctors and men's health doctors.

Reading up on clomid for men, it seems it can take a 2-3 months for effects to show up. Hope this has good results for you, keep us posted on progress. Buena suerte!
Good question boca, They 'could' be covered. I`m on Medicare with no prescription program (working on correcting that soon) My urologist had me get another T blood test and I came back at 285 which is deficient. As a result he wrote a script for 30 50 mg Clomid costing me $50 to be renewed 3x. At the end of 90 days I get another T blood test to see if it`s working. If yes then we continue. If no, we try alternatives. Because of the T deficit (285) and other benefits of good T levels other than increased libido me thinks this 'could' be covered but YMMV.
Thank God for the SIldenafil (Viagra) or I would be long gone from this hobby. Never giving up though.
This can be used in smaller doses than when used in women. In younger men with much lower T levels often need higher doses than older men with just a small lag in levels. The problem when one uses really high doses is that you can have an estrogen surge. That is why arimidex is can be useful in combination. This works well and may give much better results than the use of androgel and like products. Few physicians have experience with this.
