Giving your son and daughter a big hug and telling them in great detail why you are so proud of them.
Feeling a pair of small arms around your neck and hearing "I love you Pa-paw".
what do you enjoy getting as a gift and what do you like to give others? I love to recieve things that I would not normally go out and buy for myself like an expensive candle or soaps and I like to give gifts that I know someone really needs or again something they might not spoil themselves with for a guy it might be an expensive pen set or book or even a very nice wine .....
asking someone to buy me something material is not very important to me. I can afford to buy my own toys, and now have accumulated more crap than I care to think about.
What I want to receive is the time, attention and love of those I care for. Honestly, my kids will spend the day with us and that is the "best" gift I could ever receive. Going to the movies with them, having dinner and drinks (seems like yesterday they were being bottle fed), and playing games is the ultimate in gifts. And there is NO price tag on this wonderful gift!
And giving a gift is something that I try and pay attention to during the last part of the year. If my wife is talking about something in particular, I will try and make that happen. And just as I discussed in my receiving, she is also in the same arena as far as gifts. Walking with her in the mall, holding hands and stealing a kiss.
Material things are overrated in my book. That just takes money to buy...with very little effort put into it!
beautiful response.
I like champagne, wine, or Belvenie 12 yr old Double Wood.
Gift cards are always good. A great night out to an extra special restaurant for dinner and dessert afterwards......
It doesn't have to be the latest electronic gadget which isn't a bad idea either.
Mini vacations like to a quaint bed and breakfast would be very nice also.
Speaking just for me though, I"m allergic to pollen, so no flowers, and I"m working very hard on getting in better shape so no choclate, please!
Oh yeah, and a shiny black corvette with smoke tinted windows, chrome rims, and a wailing music system with satellite radio wouldn't be bad either. Gotta have the XM radio......LOL
Do I hear that Madonna song playing....?
...at this point in my life it is true that it's the people not the stuff. My kids and their kids, my brothers and their kids and so on. We gather at my house on Christmas eve. That's the best time.
I do think gifts that are well thought out are appropriate though. Take the time to know what the person you are buying it for really likes and wants. Make it something that is an interest of theirs.
Absolutely! Family together on the holidays, children and grandchildren.... The greatest gift of all! Better than anything in the world that money could buy.
but actually I see so many men who have a happy home life but just want more sex. You are a very warm old fashioned man most women desire as a husband.
Hope your cup runneth over with joy this holiday season

to a great place, like Rome, Lake Tahoe, Italy, Alaska and enjoy your companion's company.
I like to spoil the ones I love with gifts I know they will like. We all know this takes some effort too. I pay close attention to what they like. So when Christmas comes around, I know what to get for them.
One of my favorite gifts to give every year is this: I find one waitress and one store clerk who are always polite and kind to me throughout the year. I surprise each of them with a Christmas card with $100 in it. It makes me feel so good to do it. I love seeing the look of surprise on thier faces when I give it to them. I enjoy the reward of making them happy. Honestly, I think I get more out of it than they do. It's funny because I get to feel good about this throughout the entire year knowing I am going to be doing it come Christmastime! It's the gift that just keeps on giving!
Personally, I like receiving cologne, jewelry, wine, scarves, and/or candles. I would have to say those are my favorite gifts to receive. I am also a sucker for a really nice card. I appreciate it when someone gives me a gift of any kind, because they were thoughtful enough to do it for me. I have one client who gives me different types of lip balm when he comes to see me. I love it! I use lip balm all the time. So I think it is a very thoughtful gift! Gifts do not need to be large or expensive to be good ones! Not to sound cliche'... but it truly is the thought that counts.
I hope you all have a blessed holiday surrounded by the ones you love!

For all these reasons:
1. You can find nice custom made things including collectable or antique at all price points.
2. It's small and can be carried discretly.
3. Women love to receive it, and the guys get to see it - a win/win!
4. It lasts forever, and they will always think of you when they see it.
5. No batteries needed, no assembly.
It is my favorite gift to give.
As for what to receive, I love a gift that shows that a gal was thinking about me. One of the best, and I've have it for over ten years, is a lovely leather overnight bag. Just the right size for taking to that hotel room you're about to have a tryst in. Now that's from a gal who was really thinking about my needs!
I love, family, friendship, good food, and fond remembrances of Holidays past and present.
I love gift-giving. I often have difficulty waiting until December 25th.
Most of all, I appreciate all, who have touched my life throughout the year.
This year my ATF gave me a blue tooth keyboard for my iPad. I love the gift but what was even better was the way she went about getting it. She texted me when she was at the store asking if I had an iPad one or an iPad two. Then she told me she was getting a new ipad for herself and wanted to know what I thought of the keyboards. I told her I didn't have one but that they seemed pretty cool. The next day when she presented it to me I nearly fell off of the bed I was so surprised!
In the past my ATF has complimented me on the thought that I put into my gifts and this year was no exception. Sadly, her dog passed away a couple of months ago. I made a donation in memory of her beloved animal to a local shelter in her area that I happen to know she volunteers at.
Honestly, I don't spend extravagantly and I don't expect that in return either. When someone really puts some thought into a gift it's extra special because it's personal.
It's taking time to write a Christmas card and enclosing pictures of the kids that fill my heart with love. I have god children that now have children so receiving a phone call from my god children is extra special since their mothers and I went to school together. That conversation can bring tears to my eyes at times just thinking of some of the nutty things we did when I was young. These cards and pictures are kept and looked at all year long.
Spending quiet time with my sister was my Christmas this year and I was so happy to be with her. We ate, laughed and reminisced. Material gifts don't seem to mean as much to me these days as spending time with those you love.
