I am assuming that he does not have your location if so , leave him a voice mail to reschedule
let him know you need his confirmation and move forward. He will get it  . Some are like
that .I have one who emailed me a week ago to  get together that week and never answered
me when I told him to let me know. And I know him too! LOL!

I made that mistake a few times and have been stood up or stood someone else up since they ran late. Now I ask for confirmation by phone the morning of our date. I also tell them we need not talk but he may leave a message so I know he hasn't forgotten in his busy schedule. I now allow confirmation via text since being caught up with meetings or other people makes it easier.

Can you or can't you is up to you. You are an independent contractor who pays the bills. I'm sure your sitting in a very nice hotel and had breakfast via room service. Since we understand gracious appreciation you also tipped. Now you need to meet your expenses.

Hope things work out for you today

Dear Victoria:
It is okay to cancel if someone does not call on the day of the date to confirm or email and does not call you within 90 minutes to confirm their intent on seeing you. Not that you want someone being a pest but you need to have enough communication that you know you can reserve that spot because now you have people that you have turned down. Also you next question is how do you get compensated with you prorated compensation. Not that you would want to but it is not like you can report him to a credit bureau if he doesn't pay you but you can put him on a do not see list if you deem it necessary because of his unprofessional behavior.
Finally, I am also wondering how long does it take you to screen because if the guys belong to a verification service were you can verify him quick then you could have accepted those dates earlier. However if they didn't then you have to wait for certain pieces of correspondence that you deem critical and necessary. Thus putting you in a conundrum with what your next move should be.

I generally confirm with them via email the day before and have them
contact me when they are leaving but in this case, it maybe that something
came up and he has no privacy to call ? I hope he is ok .

I think it is ok to ask the guy to:

1) Reconfirm the day before; and
2) Call/text/email an hour or two before to get your location (another reconfirmation).

Miss any one, and you are free to rebook.

Sorry this happened to you Victoria - he obviously doesn't realize what he's missing!

I always reconfirm, usually two days ahead (I also book well ahead). The three times i had a NSNC, I also never had a response to the reconfirmation. Now, if I don't hear back within a day, I start trying to book an alternative date.

It's turned off and only used when it's safe to. Most phones will do text so that's my choice for confirmation or cancelling.

I like that day before check-in and think i'll add that

If I make a decision to see a provider later in the same day , she'll give me the hotel the first time I call , then I'll call her when I get there for the room

Unless he's staying at your hotel , he'll need an hour to get there , so if you didnt hear from him an hour before the date and he has no idea where youre staying , I would have zero problem booking another date, its his loss and he cant be mad about your decesion to see someone else

hope that makes sense

excellent point, what I think I'm missing is whether this guy knew where she was staying ie reconfirming

this is what happened to me this past week..

Last Monday I booked an appt for Saturday at 10AM, was told to call on Thursday for the location which I did.( I even responded giving the hotels address  just to make sure it was that exact hotel, some chains have more than one hotel in a town)  Arrived at the hotel Saturday morning at 9:30 , texted that I was there, no response, called back at ten, got her assitant who said she wasnt expecting me cause I didnt re-confirm. HUH?? He gave me the location two days earlier, I felt we had a set appt. right?
He told me to wait half an hour which meant I didnt get up to her room until 10;40
What really stunk was after half hour of fun she said she needed to check out soon. I said " wasnt my fault you were 40 minutes late and I paid for a full hour"

And it seems appreciated.  One thing though each lady is so different in how they handle things.  I like to let a lady know when I am leaving for a date when I have to travel some distance.  So many will say, ' just call me when you get to point x.  And on returning dates, just show if they have a standard incall place.  I would much rather let them know I am on the way.  I think its polite at least.

Another reason to confirm is to make sure I have the right date and time.  I have messed up the time once.  Totally embarressing, I was early lol

I was to call & get the location in the morning for a 1 PM appt.   So she doesn't pick up, respond to my emails, never, nothing...   I had a single vacation day & blew it on a no show!

She is a well reviewed provider.  I see she's still working in a city an hour North of my city, so guess she's alright.  A simple message would have been appreciated.   I will never risk my vacation time with her ever again.

I always reconfirm . Usually a couple times. Day before and day of. Sometimes If appointment is a week out I will reconfirm midweek and day before. I like to have time to make other plans if its not gonna work out. i thnk though we all run into this problem from time to time. You did the smart thing by booking another date.

doesn't respond by the end of the day, the date is cancelled.

Ladies should not be waiting and guessing if they have an appointment or not. Guys need to be more considerate of a lady's time.

Damn! If I had seen this earlier, I would have run out to LaGuardia and caught the first flight to Chicago.

There were weird circumstances, and I've seen her a few times before and was always happy seeing her.

Shit happens. In my experiences with her, it'll take too long to go into, but let's just say she was doing a tour thru here, we didn't pan out, and when I went to where she lives a couple months later she made it up. Oh yeah! She made it up alright, lol!

But as far as your deal, what? Are you supposed to sit by the phone, hoping he calls? If he can't commit and re-commit to the time and place, bump his ass. He only has himself to blame. He can't write a bad review for something that didn't happen, and if he tried and succeeded, you come to me. ;)
