Part 1 has nothing to do with sex.....just being old.....and cars.

I got my DL in 1961; bought my first car in 1965.  In the past 47 years, I have owned only four vehicles....and still have two of them:

1)  1961 Buick Special station: bought from my mother, who bought it from a fellow teacher, who bought a new car every year.  Traded it in with about 98k miles on vehicle #2.

2) 1973 Olds Cutlass Supreme:  ordered from the factory.  Junked with about 128k because it need transmission work and had rust damage from living next to the Pacific Ocean.

3)  1986 Toyota Camry:  bought new from dealer, still own, now with 267k miles.  It's the backup-beater and daughter's temporary-drive car.

4)  2003 Mazda MPV:  now with 82k miles. was bought with the hope it might be my last purchase.  Unfortunately, it has gone from a Consumer Reports recommended "buy" in 2003 to a 2012 "avoid" as a used vehicle.  And...a "tune up", which on the Toyota cost me about $40 in parts and a few hours work, cost me almost $1k to have plugs and coils replaced on the transverse 6 cyl engine.

So....questions:
A)  Anyone get this much use out of their vehicles?
B)  What is the most mileage someone has put on a vehicle?

Lots of little things wrong but engine and trans still pull strong.  Oil change with good oil and filter and tires rotated every 5k.  Trans fluid change every 25k.  The truth is if you take care of your vehicle and don't try do do things it's not desinged for, you should get a long life out of it.

It is the most trouble free car I've ever had.  I had a 1997 model that made it to 130K, but it needed a new engine and tranny.

This one needed a bit of tranny work, and recently had to have a new blower (Whatever the hell that is for $600.), but it runs like a top again.  If I set the cruise control to 65 MPH and point it down a highway, I get 32 MPG, not too shabby for a big boat like that.

Call me a geezer (my kids do), but I hope to be able to keep this car for a long time.  There's nothing else like it on the market today.

I'm sure this doesn't count but wanted to "play" anyway!  I bought a new Tacoma Oct 2001 and it has gone 117K.  My friend just put new tires on it, fixed AC, alignment and new brakes.  I feel like it is a new truck!! I plan to have it for another 11 years at least!! The AC fix was most appreciated as I go to Vegas in October!! Will look forward to your posts because I am an older gal but I have a lot more miles to go!!!  Kalina

The year. My chrysler 300 @133k. She doesn't ask for much except regular TLC. She has no attitude and always puts out her best!!!

Bought new put 347,000 miles on it still ran likea top when sold. The engine and trany were never touched. Only tune ups, oil changes and tires/brakes etc.

I checked your photos and your "front bumpers" appear to be factory
originals (I dislike modifications)....

and fabulous, like many of the 50's Cadillacs.

Bought used with low mileage less than 20k miles had it for almost 5yrs put almost 120,000 miles all local no out of town.
Had to get rid of it that was one of the most costly cars I have ever owned to maintain.
Pepboys those type of auto shops would not touch it always had to go to a dealer or find a mechanic that specializes in European cars.
After all of that when I traded the Jetta in I went and bought a VW passat owned for exactly a year put 25,000 miles on it already started having problems.Go figure after I got rid of both VW's all of sudden consumer guide book recommended them the 2 I owned were on the used car to avoid list.
Now,before I make a car purchase I make sure I look at the consumer guide auto edition before making my selection.Thank god my muscle car I have now gives me no problems love the chargers

I run em until they get 250,000 miles on them and then get a new one!

Jeff Gorden edition. Just traded it on a2002 Mustang GT convertible 5 speed stick with 4.6 V8.  75000 miles.

1989 Benz 300SE went to the crusher at 267,000, 1990 300E still going at 168,000   1989 Integra with 147K went to my son last year for a college car.

I buy Suburbans with 75000 miles on them,then run them up to 230000 miles and then sell them.I'm on my third one.

Looks a little rough on the edges since it's parked under huge 100 year old oak trees daily. Love my car but it has times when it needs to rest and get doctors care. I have a mobile mechanic with huge truck who keeps her going strong. No car payments in over 10 years

an '02 Z71 with 326000!!!! Had to put a new tranny in at 280000. Also have an 03 Suburban with 230000. Bought both new. Did have an 88 Toyota pu that had 450000 on it when I sold it. I like to get my moneys worth out of them.

Although not as old as some of the one's you gents have owned, I had a 86 Elderado that I sold when it had 189K miles on it, an 82 Chevy Station Wagon(my first car) in which the odometer actually ROLLED over and re-started(mom's car originally & 14 years old when I got it) & most recently a 2000 Escalade with over 200K miles on it...until the engine blew, lol. Not so much older vehicles, but am notorious for putting very high mileage on a lot of my cars( and have owned a good 15-20 cars since I got my license in 1996).

THe TR I am the third owner, bought it in 85 wiht 60 K on it, retored it and it now has 220K on it. MGB I am the 4th owner, bought it in 81 and it currently is undergoing a ful restoration,  When it hit 250K I figured it was time
