The reason for opening beverages in front of her is so she kows it has not been spiked with Date Rape drugs.  A girl can never be too careful.  Probably not a real risk in an outcall location which can be traced back to him, but it's a good habit to get into.    

I always have a sealed 3 pack of condoms available on a date.  That said, a lady is within her rights to refuse to use condoms supplied by others...  but there are also a slew of "forgot the condoms" scams which can be prevented by simply having some on hand.   Hopefully proper research (TER's purpose for existing) will prevent being with a scammer but again, a good habit to get into.
