So looking at the boards it seems like NC is more of a option then SC. I mainly see ladies in Raleigh Durham or Charlotte however I was thinking about doing a surprise visit to Charleston SC just not sure of the area. I have not announced this visit since I'm not to sure if I should pull the trigger yet.

Ladies and Gents if you could suggest an area what would you pick and why?
I would love to visit a city that all markets can survive so whether someone charges 200 or 700 it doesn't matter. I also would like to go sightseeing while in town so I am open to hearing about a few " eye catching" attractions out that way.

Happy Saturday !

Even with all its "old money" and such, its actually a really bad place to tour generally (IMO) Very hit or miss if you do. But awesome to visit in general! Every time visit I take my dog and take him to Sullivans Island out on the beach, we kayak, hike, walk around downtown (very cute) and Early Bird Diner has the bestest Shrimp and Grits!

Raleigh and Charlotte are probably your best bets. Theres a thread below relating to them. Ive been in Charlotte about 9 yrs. Downtown is cool, lots of bars and great restaurants. Epicenter is very popular downtown, 3 levels of bars/clubs/restaurants etc. NC Music Factory. Lots of great parks and greenways. Whitewater Center is awesome (they are getting back on their feet after the tragedy recently) Crowders Mountain is south of Charlotte, has some great hiking. Lots of great restaurants in CLT, several have been featured on Food Networks Diners/Drive Ins/Dives. Lots of cool little neighborhoods with great bars and great food like NoDa (art district) Plaza Midwood, Dilworth and Southend.

Joannamarch.net lives there . Well reviewed !

Lots of great Hotels and Restaraunts within walking distance.  North Charleston is sketchy and Mt Pleasant is too suburban like.   I forgot to mention that Isle of Palms is cool if you prefer a laid back atmosphere.
