but I will try to ease your concerns just a little.

1.  The Mann Act only applies to transporting others, not yourself.  Also, there is no such thing as a "Travel Act" unless it applies to travel agents.

2.  There was a famous Boxer who was busted for this about 100 years ago, but this hasn't happened in a long time for just having a provider cross a state line just to come to you.

3.  If you have sex with an underage girl, there is no defense, period.  Go MILF, or check ID if you're that worried.

4.  No Changes.

The FBI, which investigates; and the US Attorney's Office, which prosecutes Federal crimes (Mann Act) are both more worried about terrorists, organized crime, and/or about 1000 other thing than you getting your wick dipped.

Good Luck, and relax (you'll enjoy it more)

My understanding is that prostitution is legal in Rhode Island (except for streets). I am considering visiting RI. I can not afford to be in legal problems as stakes are too high. My questions are:
1. If I travel to RI for hiring a provider in RI, am I violating any Mann act or Travel Act?
2. If I travel to RI and hire a provider who is in Boston or some other part of the country to come for an outcall, do I violate prostitution law of MA (or of the state where she is coming from as she is crossing state lines)? or do I violate Mann act or Travel Act in this case?
3. If I go to an AMP in RI and an underage girl is working there, or the AMP does not have a license to operate or a girl is locked in and being forced to work there, do I violate any RI laws for visiting/getting served in the AMP?
4. Anyone has any updates on prostituion law in RI, are there any changes that have occured or is it still legal as of today?
Answer to any of these questions will be very appreciated.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

My understanding is that prostitution is legal in RI but that soliciting for sex is not...or something like that.
Honestly, It's not worth driving to RI or paying a girl to drive to RI when all the ones I want are here in Boston so I've never tested this theory. It's easier to just be smart, use the resources of TER and stick with reliable and well reviewed ladies.

As far as the AMP thing goes. I don't know if you are violating any laws but why would you want sex from a woman who isn't providing it willingly?  I don't know that this situation exists in any AMPS in RI but if I were at all suspicious that it did I would just stay away.

Nothing against the great state of RI, I love their strip clubs but I've never tried to hobby down there, just no reason to.

Came across this article.  Obviously, while not definitive, it was news to me.  I'm surprised there isn't more mention of this on the boards.  I would've assumed that RI would thusly become a safe haven for providers from LE.  Providence is what, a 1 hour trip from South Station?

-------
Although soliciting sexual favors on the street is illegal in Rhode Island, authorities say a loophole in state law allows prostitution behind closed doors — including in storefronts that advertise as massage parlors and spas just blocks from City Hall.

"We don't have a law criminalizing prostitution indoors," said Providence Police Lt. Thomas Verdi, who leads the department's anti-prostitution efforts.

Police and city officials have pushed for legislation to toughen anti-prostitution laws, although some say adding more laws to punish prostitutes is unnecessary.

State law prohibits loitering for the purpose of prostitution, as well as harboring or transporting prostitutes. But the sale of sex indoors is not specifically banned.

Verdi said police have raided nearly every suspect spa and massage parlor in Providence and charged women there with prostitution, but the charges were thrown out because they are not doing anything illegal.

1.  Thinking about things too much!

2.  No.  and see #1 answer for second part.

3.  Yes, most likely.

4.  Hire a Mass lawyer, drive him/her to RI to consult with you and answer your questions as you delve into the provider world in RI, so you won't be a nervous wreck as new questions pop up in that head (big) as you get "comfortable" with said lady of your choosing.

I also suggest that you get some medication to calm yourself down.  Of course, I suggest that you have your doctor prescribe them to you.  Otherwise, there would be additional legal questions to be answered.

No I'm not an attorney.  I only play one on this Board!!!!!!!  Could I be sued for giving incorrect advice??????

My belief the reason that providers do not flock to Rhode Island is due to the rates the market bears. For the most part there are only Indy girls working in that state.

For the most part the major escort ad outlet is craiglist. Most providers are very hit or miss, providers that I have found desirable are very hard to reach. The standard service standard with incall providers is non GFE for the most part with few exceptions. Great strip club scene in providence. If you happen to be in the area you maybe in luck but I wouldn’t recommend a trip to hobby there. I choose to stick with Boston and surrounding areas. With anything do your research stick to providers with reviews and if you must take one for the team be careful of upsells.

This post isn’t meant to bash the good providers that are in Rhode Island but just stating my personal experience.
