I'm going to attempt to teach more people to fish ...
Tineye has a huge weakness in it that makes it useless for finding fake photos. I'm not going to tell what it is on this board because I don't want to give away free advice to the fakers out there.
You need to use google images to find these fake photos:
Step 1: You somehow need to get a copy of the image on your computer because google images won't scrape the images off a page like tineye, but it will actually find matches for the fake photo.
Eros disables right click on the images so you can't right click and hit "Save Image As..." Options around this are:
a) temporarily disable javascript and then you can right click and save. b) copy the file out of your browser's cache directory. c) use a screen capture and crop the image out
for Internet Explorer on Windows XP, your cache directory is in:
C:\Documents and Settings\your-login-name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
Step 2: Go to: http://images.google.com/ click on the little camera image click "upload an image" browse to the file you just saved in step 1 google images then will give you images that it thinks match the image you uploaded
for making the effort to share these details. Been meaning to figure this out, and will give this a go and see how it works. Used to make a lot of Scrapbook saves in Firefox, and think that browser downloads all the pics in an ad to your machine, if it still works the same as it used to with that addon running.
This works well. You do need to turn off "Safe Search" or you will get only g-rated photos. I have found (and I am on a MAC) that you can drag photos from Eros directly onto my desktop and from there drag them onto the Google "Search by Image" box and it works fine. Here is the result of a search I did for fun on TS Betty http://www.eros-ny.com/files/209172.htm No TER reviews on her nor any results from a phone number search.
I usually open two windows (usually in google chrome so i have seperate versions of chrome running): one with backpage, for example, with the photo on it and the other on google images. I left click on the image and drag it right into the search box on google images. And voila, all the dirt you need to find on the potential scammer.
