This is a time of year to appreciate good things, friends, food, and reflect on those who maybe without. I encourage all my fellow board members, VIP or non-VIP to consider giving back to those less fortunate. Be it an education group, housing or hunger group, a Veterans organization, a sex workers group, or a health group. A token of your time or gifts (money or vital supplies) can go a long way. BTW, you can also make this a year round thing.
To the many who do this already, excellent and a personal thank you. Have a great Thanksgiving...I'm waiting for a certain hobbyist to start a thread asking if any providers will be offering steep discounts on Black Friday. Lol. (Sorry, I had to....)
On a serious note, giving back, volunteering, donating time and money, whatever it may be, should give you a feel good feeling. I know it does for me especially at this time of year. During the year (for the past 10 years) I volunteer twice a month to serve meals at a local shelter. I donate supplies to a local animal shelter and at this time of year I get together with a few friends and we put together Thanksgiving baskets. They're actually boxes but with a turkey, canned veggies, canned cranberry sauce, gravy mix and rolls. We go to a local church and they randomly give us names of families that we can deliver these baskets to.
This is also the time of year when I start to evaluate MY past year...whether it's on the professional side or personal side of life. I know there are things I want (ie: need) to fix, to change and improve upon. Save more money is one yet I'm still Hobbying LOL. I guess I should become more choosy and not so impulsive (quality not quantity).
