I wish total success to Obama in leading the country. I only want security, freedom and opportunity for all of us. For 8 years I’ve seen what happens when opponents claim a Presidency is not legitimate and bash the President and Presidency at every turn, regardless of the effect on the country.
But Obama’s is now between a rock and a hard place.
Obama ‘The candidate’ clearly knew that in order to win he had to shift to the center, even center right. Yes, the country has been and still is center right. You don’t believe me, just look at Blue California and its vote opposing gay marriage. He won with a clear mandate and that mandate is to fix the economy, This is clearly demonstrated by how far McCain was up right before the markets tanked. The exit polling also indicates this mandate.
But Obama ‘The legislator’ may be the person that shows up for office, in which case his far left record would round out a ‘Trio of leftists’. There’s no doubt that Pelosi and Reid won’t be able to resist their far left ideology, but what about Obama?
Which Obama will show up on January 20, the eloquent, more centrist candidate or the leftist legislator/community organizer?
I sincerely hope it’s Obama the candidate, but face it, less is known about Obama than any other President elect, certainly any in my lifetime.
If Obama the candidate shows up for inauguration, it will be better for the country, but he will have a hell of a fight on his hands, not from Republicans but from the far left wing of his own party, which seems to be the majority of the Democrat party these days. I have sincere doubts about his chances for success, but he won’t have anything to fear from me and others in the ‘loyal opposition’. Our opposition when needed will be based on principles.
Obama will have my complete support for any and all endeavors that are in the best interest of the country. I will be listening to and watching Obama intently from day one. If Obama the legislator returns or if Pelosi and Reid start to have their way with us or him, you will be very grateful the Dems didn’t reach 60 in the Senate.
Hate to say it, but I believe Reid, Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chuckie Schumer, Dodd, Waxman, et al, are going to chew him out and spit him out. The lamb being led to the slaughter, so to speak. Hope he grows some big cajones, and quickly.
I disagree about Pelosi, Reid et al chewing him up and spitting him out. Let’s not forget Obama is far more intelligent than the people you mentioned. He is also very skilled and I doubt he would be a push over. No one knows what he is going to do after he takes office because he has no track record. However, based on how he campaigned on the theme of bringing the country together he might be more interested in building a coalition with Republicans to get things done than appeasing a few diehard liberals. I believe he is sincere when he says he wants to be the president of all Americans. What he perceives that to be, and how he plans to achieve his goal remains to be seen. We’ll have to wait and see.
When the republicans win, the democrats start yelling voter fraud/disenfranchisement. When the democrats win, it was all above board. There are some political historians that say, were it not for the democrat shenigans in Chicago by Mayor Daley, Sr., and elsewhere, Nixon would have won over Kennedy. In fact, if the fraudulent ballots were expunged, He did win. Nixon refused to pursue the case, ala Al Gore in Florida.
