When I find I need to make a modification to a post, I copy the post with the correction needed and post it.  I also delete the original.  Your new post will not need to be reviewed and the deleted post when reviewed will stay deleted.

Really? You may as well just fucking not even bother now, it's no longer relevant.

I guess I don't really understand why folks who are not moderated need to have a post that went up immediately the first time sit in limbo for days before it can go up again.  I can understand this if the poster is moderated but it seems ridiculous if he or she is not.

with no delay, but moderated individuals could also do this and they started to sneak in shit this way to short-circuit the moderating process.

As a result, both moderated and non-moderated individuals had to wait to get their corrected post back up on the board; apparently the software has no way of discerning the difference when it comes to correcting posts.

It sucketh, but that's the way it is.

Why two days, is a strange one.  Mod must have had to take a real wicked shit, or something.

I also understand why folks who are moderated need to have their updated posts moderated as well.  Why those of us who are not moderated need to go through the same process is a mystery to me.  The mods have enough to do for free already...

Busy moderator I guess. I have had a similar thing the other day. I pulled a post to change one letter in one word. It didn't take 2 days, but it took 4 hours to go back up. By then, there were other replies saying the same thing, so yeah my post is irrelevent. In the future, for a small correction like that, I think I will just reply to myself, with the correction, then at least it will post right away.
I agree that it's silly that it happens in the first place and there should be a software fix. In the meantime, I say reply instead of edit.

THANK YOU!!!!! Foodguy. :) The typo problem plagues me! I hate typos, bad spelling,  etc. I am also prone to only being able to really reading what I've written AFTER it posts. No matter how hard I try to proofread, it isn't the same. And being a geekish sort, those things matter to me. Your solution is a great workaround.

Yours is a good suggestion but I know I'm missing something here. When I click on one of my recent posts, I see "Quote", "Reply" and "Edit Message".  Where is the DELETE function?
