Why do escorts hide behind door?

Why do the escorts answer the door, then get behind it when you walk thru.  I've gotten used to it, but still feels creepy since I'm walking into a room of someone I've never met, not knowing who is behind the door.

That is exactly the reason why.  Funny I was just asked this yesterday.  However, I guess from their standpoint there may be various reasons until they realize once the door closes, and then they smile like a kid in the candy store :)

Hotel room door, private in-call door?  

Seriously if she is wearing lingerie and there is this nervous looking guy standing at the door and she stands there in all her glory for who knows what to see, it kind of removes the discretion portion of the game. Remember, this is illegal and hotel staff are not stupid(if it's a hotel situation)

I've always understood her need not to be seen from the hall.  What also drives me nuts is, once she's given you the room #, why she can't be right there when you knock.  The most uncomfortable thing for me in this game is, having knocked, and she doesn't open the door right away.  Meanwhile, I'm standing in the hall and my knock has alerted anyone else there of my intent to enter a room that's not mine.  I won't even knock if there's hotel staff in sight or within earshot.
So girls, please don't give out your room # when you can't get right to the door, stat!

all you have to do is ask..saves time taking all her clothes off and you can get right to business rather quickly..assuming she is sopping wet..and they usually are.

It's still very awkward when you are in a hotel. I don't like anyone who might be passing by the door getting a glimpse of me letting a guy in, then the next day, another one. I believe in discretion. Hotel halls have cameras.
