Unable to recognize sarcasm; London?

I was making a sarcastic jab at the ludicrous hypocrisy we live under. One can show up to a pre-employment drug test addled with Big Pharma drugs and a BA of .15 and nothing is said. But have a couple of metabolized Cannabin’s in your urine and you’re summarily dismissed.

GaGambler's analogy of Hookers being sullied by the inclusion of lawyers on LinkedIn is in the same spirit.

Big Pharma would much prefer you get addicted to narcotics if that is all there is to stop the pain. But wait there's more, maybe some cannabis might help, non narcotic but shoot, they won't tax it so they can't make billions.  

It appears he might have done some research, it was all that was available with the side effects he mentioned. What was/is he supposed to do, stay in pain if he chooses not to imbibe?

As a former mountain climbing guide, I can confirm the truth of the joke.  

But it is rightly prohibited for state-licensed therapists to have sex with their clients.  If by "fucked", you mean "ripped off", you would have to ask the clients if they feel ripped off.  I'm sure you will find some who will say they do, and some who will say they don't.  

Now, that's funny!

No one (from what I see) is arguing that sex work or selling of illicit drugs is legal or legitimized. They should be however prostitution is the only activity criminalizes by the motive- i.e., legal to give away, but not to directly trade for money. Motive may affect the degree of other crimes, or act as a mitigating/aggravating factor, but anything criminalizes purely by motive is basically just creating Thought Police.  
I'm sure society will continue to place a stigma on sex work as long as rad neo-feminists and puritanical elements exist in our society. Personally, I dont so much care about society's opinion- I just want to be able to do the job of my choice safely and without the threat of arrest/imprisonment/lifelong criminal record. Really, I simply think criminalizing ANY behavior that only affects the consenting adults involved in that behavior. Therefore, I also think use/sale of drugs should be legalized and regulated- the vast majority of overdoses, death, violence associated with drugs is created by criminalization. Prohibition of any such consensual activity doesn't lessen the occurrence- it just pushes that group underground and causes untold harm.

Based on your logic Ms. Spock, drug dealers should also be legitimized.  It's illegal as well, but I'm sure drug dealers see their "profession" as legitimate as a hookers.  
   
 Go ahead and scream that hooking should be legal because it should.  And even if it was, society in this country still looks down on it.  
   
 Go and get your eyes tested where you claim to work.  Funny, how do you have all this time to be on TER and still pay attention to your legitimate job?

If we expect to be treated like legitimate business women, and to gain decriminalization and acceptance of sex work, we must behave like real workers. I enjoy when companions have LinkedIn profiles. I feel it is very professional.

London- I don't blur my face because I'm ashamed- I blur my face because the illegality and social stigma of this profession require it unless I want tO be an easy target for Leo, or face discrimination by any future employer, etc. also, as you said,  discretion is a vital part of our professionalism- i don't want to be easily recognizable when out to dinner with a client, for HIS sake. I also don't wish to subject my mother to the horrific guilt/anxiety/etc that would ensue if she found out- just because of her personal beliefs.  
I do think, since this is a JOB, that women should be able to CHOOSE to show their face without fear of police harassment/criminal record. No one can make society like or approve of us, but we can work for the safety/harm reduction/justice of decriminalization...(not the I'm saying it's anyone's duty to join in activism!)
