You'd be trashing Elliot Spitzer regardless of what action he took.  If he stuck with the plan, you'd say he was misguided and politically motivated.  Now he has dropped the plan because he was responsive to his constituency and realized that overcoming the opposition would interfere with other problems that need attention.  Isn't it shocking to hear a politician admit he made a mistake.  GW should only be so enlightened.

I stated no opinion other than that of his changing his course in light of overwhelming opposition by a huge majority of New York voters is a smart thing if he wishes to continue his political career.  

 GW's arrogant sneering at public opinion is incontrovertible proof that we as a nation should never again allow both Houses as well as the Executive branch to me monopolized by ONE party.
