OK, to answer your question (and it was a question, no harm, no foul, and exactly what this board is for)!  This is from an army brat, while hobbyists usually do only have the price and the provider's pictures in mind when choosing a provider, but not always!!!  A well written, clever, profile/website with personal revelations can also be alluring. For example, you say that you have MA's in English and Political Science.  My MA is in International Relations, didn't complete my PS PhD, and after working several years in libraries, I once studied for a MLS degree.  Sight unseen, for me you are hot!!!

Remember TER profiles are generated by the hobbyists.  That said, I know of many gals who could present themselves better with better words in their ads, and/or websites.

I think there is room, and even a need, for a a "copy consultant".  I'm just not sure where you can advertise this service, or how much money you can expect to make.  I'd focus on the provider only boards to which you have access.

I hope this helps,

I moved from NY about three months ago, but I am here at least one week out of the month. I work for an agency when I am visiting in NY. I have my masters degree in english as well as political science. My writing is mostly done online...example...Men's Health, IVillage, Dontdatehimgirl.com, About...You get the idea. I
use a ghost.
Anyway, a friend of mine who is independent asked me to amend, edit and rework her profile/bio. We were told to not waste our time as men didn't read them. We discovered that this was not the case. She received twice the amount of responses along with remarks on her bio. Potential clients used words such as different, refreshing, interesting, funny ( I crack myself up), as well as classy and sexy. There were more.
Am I allowed to post in the provider section that I am available if anyone is interested in a renovation for their bio/profile?
Thank you for reading my post. I would appreciate any feedback.
Be well
L

I think the provider board only has one rule, you have to be a provider with 3 reviews to access it. Other than that, I would think you could post anything you wanted.

Loquacious bios that boarder on shameless self aggrandizement are usually only read by the most epicene of hobbyists. Short, clever bios that pique the interest of the worldly as well as the wanton are a win-win.

Client fall into numerous categories.  Every provider gets inquiries from gents who simply click on their site, look at their photos, and then immediately contact them by phone or e-mail.  These gents never read anything more on the site and, therefore, often ask for appts after a provider's business hours, ask about the donation, services, etc.

Then, there are the clients (and I would say there are more of these) who do take the time to read the provider's site.  I know this as I often receive comments on my site from gents who are very familiar with it.  These are the guys who do their homework, have read any reviews, and provide all the information the provider requests for the appointment.

You are certainly welcome to post your services on the provider board.  First, however, you need to write TER admin and ask for admittance.  This usually only takes a day or two.

Good luck!

Here is my particular method of reviewing a provider's web site or ad:
1.  I check to see if she has reviews on here.  If so, proceed.  If not, forget it.
2.  I do the proper checking of said reviews.  General review ratings, services offered, then read recent and best and worst reviews.
3.  I check out the bio information.  If this is very long (multiple pages), I will then skip to 4.
4.  Crass, shallow man that I am, I look at her photos.
5.  If I am still interested I completely read every word on her ad or web site.
6.  I then read more of her reviews, especially ones from reviewer's whose history seems to match my own inclinations.
7.  I plan every last word of my introductory email or phone call.
8.  I start getting nervous that I am going to come across as a structured, anal loser (oh, wait ... ouch)  ;)

Last added note.  I think you could do well as a paid copy consultant and writer.  There is certainly a need for it out there.

Conversely, I may find myself a little disappointed if I fall in love with your prose, then find that the provider in person is more of the 'Hee Haw'-loving, tobacco-chewing kind of gal.

I have assisted a couple of ladies in editing their bio's, etc., but when discussing this with male friends I soon learned that to them this falls in the category of "deception", and is in some ways a form of "bait and switch".

If a man is seeking an intelligent, well read, or traveled companion who is interesting, charming, and clever, and not just great in the physical sense (for many these go hand in hand), he is the type to take the time to read the website cover to cover, and even search for posts by the lady in question, which are both indicative of "who" the lady is, but ONLY if she authors these.

I would say that as long as you write in the third person this should seem fair to all parties involved. :)
