Where to begin. Great, I am glad you are thrilled the Steelers didn't make the playoffs. Kudos to the Bengals; they went into Pittsburgh in week 16 and earned a hard fought victory. They deserve to go the playoffs. But there is not a team in this league that I would trade histories with over these past 40 years. (The first 39 years of Steeler football were a little rough as it took them that long to actually win a playoff game!) The Steelers are championship organization on and off the field. They compete year in and year out as a small market team (Yes, there is a salary cap, but the Steelers do not have as much cash on hand, like the Redskins and Cowboys to pay huge signing bonus). To that end they don't waste their resources on major free agents; instead building carefully through the draft. They don't fire coaches (heck Bill Cowher once missed the playoffs three straight years and they gave him a contract extension!). They have an organizational structure that is stable and works. Everyone knows their jobs and do it well. (The Rooney's own the team, the scouts review the players, the GM selects the players, the coaches coach and the players play). There is no confusion.  

But please, let's not insult the intelligence of Steeelr fans. I drive 7 hours each way to attend games. and get this: I have no problem checking into the hotel , finding the stadium and, hold your breadth, finding my seats!! Wow, that's difficult.

Finally, your statement "the NFC is the home team this year" makes ZERO sense. What are you talking about? The Presidential Inauguration will be held on Monday January 21st. I believe Kelly is referencing the fact that there is a chance (albeit a small one) that the Redskins could host the Vikings in the NFC Championship game (provided they beat Seattle and the 49er's and have the Vikings beat the Packers and Falcons) on Sunday January 20th . But If I am a Redskin fan, I prob. wouldnt make that non-refundable hotel reservation for that weekend just yet.

Anyway, good luck to those fans who still have a dog in the proverbial playoff fight!
