In terms of Old Montreal I enjoy Place d'Armes, Gault and the Nelligan. The St James is lovely and has amazing beds and linens.  

Downtown I like Le Germain and Hotel Sofitel. A newer boutique hotel that has great showers and bed is Chez Swann. Its charming in a modern way.
