Did you see that segment on CNN today?  A financial analyst talked about Trump's business savvy with regard to the contract he won to build a hotel on the site of the old post office on Pennsylvania Avenue.  Apparently, all the other major hotels dropped out of the bidding because Trump bid so high they realized it would be impossible to win the contract and still make a profit.

This analyst mentioned that Trump would need to book full occupancy (forever) and charge over $800 a night, just to break even.  Initially, the hotel was charging $700 a night but is currently charging $400 a night.

Is this his ego in action again?  Could this project be following the same fate of his Atlantic City casinos?

I also find it highly amusing that the "world's greatest businessman" has spent the last year destroying the value of his personal brand, which he has always insisted is his most valuable asset. When it's all said and done the Trump brand will be worthless, many of the hotels with his name have already taken a hit with number of guests bookings falling between 30-40percent.

WASHINGTON ― Instead of spending his morning in a hotly contested battleground state like Florida ― where Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton held an event encouraging people to vote early ― Donald Trump on Wednesday decided to promote his sagging brand at his glitzy new Pennsylvania Avenue hotel, just blocks from the White House.

Trump embarked on a similar promotional tour Tuesday, when he visited his golf course and resort in Doral, Florida. There, too, the GOP nominee touted his property as several employees spoke of their admiration for their high-flying boss.

His campaign responded to criticism about the event by saying Trump’s visit to the resort highlighted his ability to create jobs.[/quote
