I just got cancelled for an appointment with a well known provider this week at the last moment with an excuse. I am not sure if it is just me, but about half the time when I booked visiting, the appointment didn't go through.
I suspect that many providers are placing fishing ads just to find out how many appointments they can get before deciding to show up. There is an inundation of provider ads here and there, some asking ridiculous rates, but how many of them actually show up.
I believe do try to book up before they arrive and if its not enough in advance they cancel everyone. Some, NOT ALL.. i too recently got cancelled by a traveling lady ..top tier. Just the chance you take with visiting providers.. hell, I've been cancelled by local ladies too..last minute ..just the nature of things
I've cancelled more often by local ladies than out of state traveling ladies. Local can just call the hotel by 4:00 pm to cancel the night. Traveling ladies at least have to buy the ticket and can't back out in short notice, except for those who require prebooking. It's not worth the aggravation so I deal mostly with agencies.
If the provider isn't getting any appointments I'm sure you could understand her not coming into town unless personal reasons are attached. Some have a quota to meet before actually coming. I'm still planning my trip, I've had cancellations but fortunately, I've had others to replace them.
Sorry, she cancelled but at least she let you know.
