She is scrutinized because politicians are endlessly scrutinizing her, trying to find some terrible crime. And when they can't find anything they scrutinize something else about her for something, but when it turns out there's nothing there, they try to find something else to get her on.

And everybody watching thinks, Gee, she's always being investigated, so there simply HAS to be SOMETHING she's guilty of. Maybe if nothing they've found yet, there must be something else. And they stay tuned to see what else they might come with. So she's guilty of being innocent.

We all know about the endless list of crimes and dishonorable dealings of her opponent, but he just says, "Yeah, I did that. It shows how smart I am. So what?" So there's no mystery, no need to dig further, no reason to look for a smoking gun because we all watched him shoot the guy (figuratively). So we think, Yeah, Trump's a crook and an asshole, so what else is new?

I'm glad more people are beginning to figure this out.
