it's perfectly reasonable to be afraid of police or executive agencies operating illegal wiretaps, because they are in a position to manipulate the law and the guns, and have shown they're willing to break the law.
On the other hand, fear that somebody may arch an eyebrow, or even say something snotty, is not reasonable. It's a lame attempt at political manipulation by a disturbed person.
What are your views on this? It seemed that the program to spy on citizens overstepped safeguards that were set up to ensure it was done properly and quickly (i.e. the panels of judges that were charged by the Supreme Court with providing timely review and approval of government spy requests on citizens). The leak source investigation seems like an attempt to intimidate and potentially divert attention from the basic problem.
Look, when Letterman makes a joke out of Cheney saying that 'everybody knows he's the most reprehensible and corrupt man in town', you know what people are feeling.

it's so important to STAND UP FOR JESUS, and I'm so proud and grateful that you defend him here in this Godless corner of the internet. Your light is shining like a beacon, and He sees your witness here, Amen.
Now please excuse me for a minute while I check the new reviews.
in that this administration is so incompetent as to not be able to investigate classified matters of national security until they became public. Thanks for lowering the bar. We are doomed.
An internal search for the leak source after the administration found that the NYT had information on the spying could have been carried out as an internal matter. This happens all the time in business, and there is little reason why government should operate differently, especially given the high probability that a political appointee leaked the information. There were only so many people privy to the knowledge of the cecret spy operation and in a competent administration, all of them would have had high level positions in the affected agencies.
