It’s either coincidence, or it’s not. If not, his intentions are either harmless, or not. Last, you are either comfortable with it, or not.
Doesn’t sound like a coincidence given the uniqueness of your handle and since you are acquainted. You have an admirable review history, spanning time, geographies, quality providers, thoughtful commentary and numerous white-list referrals; ie – why one would chose you. His intentions, other than being mistaken for you, are unclear. At a minimum, I could see a motivation to lend more weight to his posts (uncool, but least harmful). Worst case, his intentions could be to use your handle to get past a provider’s screening, or post in a manner that reflects negatively upon you (ie – potential risk to providers and possible harm to your reputation). You don’t seem comfortable with it. Nor would I.
For what it’s worth, while it’s a strikingly similar alias, it’s missing 4 characters that stand out when compared to your handle. Similar to someone going with “Beefeater501” – it will draw association but there’s a good chance the discrepancy will be noted, especially as an alias. We’re all in an arena where we balance the pursuit of fantasy with skepticism. Attention to detail adjudicates the outcome.
