Humanity is not lost brother!  Really glad to see you took the plunge---had a positive experience and are feeling better about yourself.  Everyone who chooses to participate in this hobby does it for their own reasons.   Remember this is a hobby and understand it for what it is.  Hopefully over time you gain some real emotional and spiritual healing and move forward with your life in a positive way.

To quote Al Pacino from Scent of a Woman.  "There is nothing like the sight of an amputated spirit.  There is no prosthetic for that."

Kudos to Zayla for setting the first positive example for kahuna415

Not only do I constantly have bad memories of my 4 deployments to the Middle East and the injuries I sustained, along with the worry of rejection from providers. I took the plunge. There were a few providers that assured me they would have no problems in seeing me.
So I finally bit the bullet and set up a date with one of them and if she is an example of what I have to look forward to in this new hobby, I'm stoked. I've noticed a little pep in my step as I left that night which I haven't had in a long time.
I guess my situation might actually help me in the screening process but to know there are a few non-judgmental providers has really made me feel better about myself and I really needed that.
I know there are some cynics out there on the forum who think that I need to get off the pity pot, but I'm not complaining about being bald, or having a beer belly but something that limits me physically and makes me stand out.
I guess what I'm saying is that not all humanity is lost, and I would like to give a big shout out to the members of TER that encouraged me to just go for it and have fun.
So now I begin a new journey and hope I will have as much fun as my fellow TER members in this great adventure.
Thanks.
