ESPN is reporting that Tampa Bay is close to hiring Greg Schiano of Rutgers as their new head coach. They missed out last week when Chip Kelly of Oregon had a change of heart. With the track record of college coaches failing to make it in the pros, I wonder what makes Schiano think he'll be the exception.

And he took Stanford into national prominence beating USC and developed Andrew Luck. Schaino's high water mark was 5 years ago beating Louisville. After that is when he should have elevated them to the next level instead of the mediocrity that ensued. They exceeded expectations this year but a coach with a 68-67 record at a 2nd rate school to an NFL coach?

It's moves like this as to why the Bucaneers have mostly been a downtrodden organization and you would never see the Giants, Patriots, Steelers, Packers do this.
