I read the thread on the NB board...

This is a typical "he said she said" story. I was wondering what makes you think her story is true, but not his, as you always side with the providers. Just because the guy wrote the review under his alias? Is that why you stated most of the alias reviews are complaints based on this single incident? When it comes to a "he said she said" story like this, I have learned it is best not to comment until you have the facts. I was involved in one not too long ago; she was lying through her teeth, and she even admitted in her text to me, but she knew I couldn't post her text messages because that would be grounds for banishment.

I was involved in several disputed reviews myself (I wrote them under my REAL handle if that matters). I received some nasty PM's from the providers threatening to blacklist me if I didn't modify my reviews. I stood my ground and told them I would forward the PM's to TER if they kept harassing me. They stopped and the reviews stood. I knew what I said in my reviews was true and TER stood with me. That's part of the reason I started writing reviews under my alias; the main reason is to keep my review count down under my real handle. Luckily, I have not had to write any bad review under my alias yet.

How long have you been in this hobby? Just over a year based on your review history, but you are giving out invalid opinions and advice like you are a seasoned veteran, and you wonder why people gang up on you? I don't belong to the "gang" you were referring to as I rarely post on the GD board, but my advice to you is until you have actually dealt with some "Bad Apple" providers, don't say anything on matters like this.

My mini of Alyssa Riley was removed because it violated one of  the rules for posting a mini: A mini must be posted under a real handle. This rule was created to give credibility to the mini before the alias rview is allowed. However, since we can now post reviews under our aliases, I fail to see why we can't post minis under our aliases as long as we have reviews under our aliases.

I have too many reviews under my real handle so I now review under my alias for local and visiting providers. When I travel, I still review under my real handle, but that is only three or four times a year. If I post a mini under my real handle to follow this rule, and then review under my alias, I would basically out myself. It seems to me TER should encourage people to post minis to help fellow hobbyists by allowing posting minis under aliases

I suppose there is value in allowing alias's. but I hate when jerks  hide  behind them.
However, I think you make a good point and find myself in agreement with you.

Geesh.....I just threw up in my mouth.

The rules are outdated.  Times have changed.

I completely agree with you. That the Mini should be posted with the same handle that review is going to posted under.

The rules about Alias' made alot of since, when everyone could have 4 or 5 aliases and change them at will. Now that you can only have one Alias and it is basically treated like another user name with PM and review capabilities, then many of rules about Aliases should be revised.

You can elect to exclude yourself from "top 100" lists, in your profile preferences
