Serious comment - What is striking to me is that with the exception of Russia (from 57% as recently as 2010 to 15% now) and Sunni-dominant Muslim countries i.e. Jordan, Obama does seem to have raised the bar a little bit. Even Israel seems to highly approve of him. OK Laffy & bigguy30, point to you.
But let's go back to that number from Russia for a moment. Based on this list, only Jordan, at 14% is lower than Russia at this time. And Jordan, once at 1% is a Sunni dominated country, and it is the Sunni sects, led by Saudi Arabia that have taken umbrage to the rapprochement between Obama's US and the Shiites led by Iran.
So Obama seems to have been part of an elevation of US favorability among allies and non-aligned nations, the ones who fluctuate mildly with the changes in DC political winds, the ones we were already friends with some of whom were disenchanted with George Bush. Yay team.
But then again, I must admit, Obama did achieve the impossible in the Middle East. It took Obama's capitulation to the Shiites of the Persian Hegemony to get Jerusalem Riyadh and Moscow to cooperate in aerial dogfights against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hezbollah and ISIL operating in southern Syria.
