As far as Colorado Springs, the Air Force Academy was literally taken over by the Thumpers long ago. Lots of scary stories about those fruit cakes so it's no surprise they control the whole town.
Every time I have been to Colorado Springs (and the AFA) during my travels, I've always enjoyed it there. Now... Cedar City, Utah or Coeur D'Alene, Idaho or Hamtramck, Michigan --- THOSE are some scary places wih scary stories aplenty.
Gag. I hope you never find yourself having to move there. It would drive you to drink! I mean, it would drive you to drink even more.
I'm still wondering where the good guys were who were suppose the stop these last two shooters?!? And, who do can you tell who the bad guys are vs. the good guys, in an open carry setting? Like a bad guy is going to say as much, if you ask him?
