I totally agree with everything you mentioned.

As a provider I always try to look at the hotel from a hobbiest point of view. I always give my visitors direct directions into the hotel and make sure I choose busy, non-key elevator hotels.

I am wanting to visit NYC soon and have wondered which hotels would be safe as well if someone could help me out and PM me any advice they have for the city, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have tried to utilize Safe Office with the hotel rating thing but I would like a providers direct thoughts as well.

... the most important thing is the hotel lobby. It has to be busy enough that you don't draw undue attention and the layout such that it is easy to nonchalantly locate the elevators immediately upon entry. I always ask providers to describe the layout in email in advance of our date. Some do and some don't. I also use google streetview and hotel photos to familiarize myself as much as possible.

Once I am in the elevator I could care less about the room itself. My only expectation is that it's clean and that the provider opens the door within a few seconds.

Of course the worst is an elevator-keyed hotel. There are ways to get around their obstacle but why raise anxiety if there are other choices for an incall.

I don't have much experience with touring or using hotels locally. What are your favorites to use? What would you consider appropriate in terms of luxury, rating, and price?
Thank you!
