IF you keep your numbers good, you'll be fine and won't be any different than normal aging.  If not, then its the silent killer for a reason.

Exercise, eat right, etc.  Also, IMHO, don't be afraid of insulin.  My only regret is not getting on insulin sooner.  I was having a hard time controlling my sugar levels, but am good now.  I travel a lot, and its hard staying 'good' when you're traveling for work.

I'm cheating a bit here as I am 51 yrs old...but I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes after having several symptoms- excessive thirst, weight loss, fatigue. Should I expect to have ED problems at some point? Or is it a hit and miss side effect with the disease? So far the med and a diet change are working well as far as my numbers are concerned.
