END OF MESSAGE

I have my doubts about his use of public humiliation, to shame people for having children out of wedlock, will cost him any votes in the primaries. In fact, he could use it as social conservative creds. Whoever, if he does get the Republican nomination, and the Dems run with this info., in campaign ads, I can easily imagine he's toast!  ;)

I think it is being taken completely out of context and I seriously doubt that those remarks made twenty years ago will have the slightest impact on the election.

As the linked article points out:

"As governor of Florida in 2001, Bush had the opportunity to test his theory on public shaming. He declined to veto a very controversial bill that required single mothers who did not know the identity of the father to publish their sexual histories in a newspaper before they could legally put their babies up for adoption. He later signed a repeal of the so-called "Scarlet Letter" law in 2003 after it was successfully challenged in court."

That means he first signed this legislation into law, which means he supported it vs. not supporting it. This put in context of what he said could be very damaging, IMHO.

....all point to him having a less than even chance of winning the Republican primaries or even the general elections. This goose is cooked!

He has zero snowball chance of getting the nomination.    The country is still struggling with Bush war / economy / debts fatigue.

Further he cannot be any different with the same Orangeman as House Speaker.
