One of my favorite quotes comes from Earl Butz - if you don't know him, look him up on Wikipedia.

Sadly, he is known mostly for some shenanigans during his tenure as Secretary of Agriculture under Richard M Nixon (remember him?).

Anyway, Earl was known for his sharp tongue (quick too...) but he just missed becoming my hero by later backing away from a very famous comment he made:

Asked about Pope Paul the Sixth opposition to birth control, his answer was priceless: "He no playa the game, he no maka the rules"
