Fireworks are near the Brooklyn Bridge this year so go to South Street Seaport for best viewing. Starts at 8PM.
Also: Rockabilly Night Market in Brooklyn today, Nathan's hot dog eating contest, lots of boat trips and beach parties, there are some nighttime walking tours about the Revolutionary War, etc.
