If you are talking Fremont Street area, best stay clear.  You are better off hitting the ones off the strip on Flamingo or Spring Mountain Roads.  Avoid a Cab as they tend to take you to ones that charge more ( cover the cab payoff ).  Take a cab to Casino, if its real close and walk over.  Best time may be late mornings or early afternoons.  Safer walk and less crowds. Now thats what I/ve been told.
