The vote was BI-PARTISAN....the Dems, having lowered the filibuster to a SIMPLE majority, couldn't even muster 51 votes in a chamber where they have the majority!

Mumia Abu Jamal is a scum bag cop killer yet is a cause celeb for some insane reason for many on the left. Adegbile didn't have to take the case, he CHOSE to do so. This wasn't some court apointed attorney thing. He knew how controversial this case was.

He had every right to take up for Abu-Jamal based on the constitution, but he does NOT have a RIGHT to head the Civil Rights Division. That is for the "advice and consent" of the Senate to decide.

America can do better than this guy. A BI-PRTISAN vote and law enforcement's full throated objection to his nomination is all the proof most Americans will need to understand that point

disdain and contempt for trial lawyers; in this case, specifically defense lawyers. Of course they are easy targets for those who don't understand the critical role defense lawyers play in our system of government.

There are good attack ads on lawyers and not so good ones. For example, going after attorneys for not backing meaningful tort reform can be very effective with a majority of the electorate. R's pushed for strong tort reform in O-Care and Barry, being in their back pocket, wasn't going to alienate a group that gives millions to his coffers and the DNC.

This ad though, attacking defense attorneys in the manner they did it, was a waste of money. I don't think there will be any backlash but thats not the point. TV advertising is costly and can be VERY effective if done right. They missed an opportunity here and flushed some big money down the shitter.

...who have sunk to unbelievable depths of partisanship.

All 45 pieces of shit Republican senators (and seven craven coward Democrats) voted to reject Debo Adegbile, President Obama's nominee to oversee the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.  Why?  Because Adegbile worked on an appeal for convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Adegbile worked on the case 25 years AFTER the conviction and he WON the appeal on the narrow point of law he appealed.  Despite Adegbile's reputation as one of the nation's leading civil rights attorneys with impeccable credentials and who has argued two civil rights cases on voting rights before the Supreme Court, all 45 GOP pukes voted against him.

As you said matt, John Adams represented the hated British soldiers in the Boston Massacre and he got six of them acquitted!  His son, John Quincy Adams, represented the slaves of the Amistad.

Another attorney once represented a man who brutally murdered eight people.  What did the fucking hypocritical Republicans do to this guy?  They voted to make him Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts.

Is called legal representation which is constitutional and secondly, it is called doing the job you are sworn to do.

Every one gets legal representation, “if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed for you”.

This time it's the gross misrepresentation of this "champion of civil rights". You failed to inform your hopeful dupes that this guy did far more than supervise this killer's appeal.  He also supervised his lionization. It's laudable to stand up for even a killer's right to a fair trial. It's quite another to treat him as and market him as a celebrity.

...Where did I say that he supervised Abu-Jamal's appeal?  He got involved in the case more than 25 years after the conviction.

Where is your proof that Adegbile "lionized" Abu-Jamal and treated him and marketed him as a celebrity?  Typical righty - just pulling shit out of your ass and flinging poo.  Oh wait, Alex Jones, Drudge and Cliven Bundy-worshiping Sean Hannity told you.  Right?

Could I be wrong?

Instead of another example of your typical dishonesty, could this simply be a case of your stupidity and ignorance?

Adegbile indeed was the supervisor for the last round of appeals, where you give him credit for winning. It is irrelevant how long he was involved in the appeal but the fact you did not know his role and somehow now use this as a debate shield is what makes me rethink your motives here.  I acknowledge winning on legal merits is a good thing, but your partisan sources appear to have failed to inform you of the full actions of his legal team including Christina Swarns and Judy Ritter outside the court room while he was heading them at the NAACP LDF. Actions that clearly attempted to create celebrity status for MAJ (he doesn't deserve to have his name spelled out).

You are free to Google them yourself but frankly I think you shouldn't. I’m not going to further educate you because we are all far better off when you just make shit up instead of having actual facts at your disposal for you to twist and distort
