Sounds to me like it's a Republican fail.

Let's see if we can follow the bouncing ball here.  Our country's infrastructure has gone to shit since Reagan came into office. You know, so we could give rich people a 50% tax cut. And now people wonder why drinking water is sometimes an issue.

BTW, is the news so bereft of anything interesting these days that we've got nothing to discuss but Baltimore's water supply?

1st The City Water Dept is incapable of accurately calculating the customers usage. Along with deliberately charging people outrageous amounts. Yes they will threaten to put Granny on the streets if she doesn't pay up.

2nd Their solution is an $83.5 million contract to install electronic smart meters. I believe the City court system is currently "on paper"...it is 2013 right?

3rd You can buy insurance for your private infrastructure, all because of their incompetence.

I believe Madame Mayor even granted herself an additional year in office.

Baltimore city's infrastructure is the sole responsibility of Baltimore city government.

Not the guy in the White House.

...if you can point out exactly how this is Reagan's fault...I'm all ears. :)

We could always search the twitter sphere for topics. lol

Wait a minute...Reagan didn't fuck up Granny's bill.

Last I checked, infrastructure was generally paid for at the federal level. Roads, bridges, dams, even telephone and power lines.

Our aging infrastructure continually fucks us, and the only ones who ever cry boo about spending a tiny fraction of the money we need to fix it is the GOP.

This isn't just Baltimore. It's nearly every city in America.

The post was about incompetence, fraud, and  BS insurance(AKA a tax) on top of it.

I don't believe you read the article. :-D

The City's incompetence is what led to the water meter problem. I wasn't addressing the problem of aging infrastructure.

The City owns the water system, the City is responsible for managing their finances. Not the Federal government

...thinks this local insignificant issue should be discussed on a national board.  He probably spends a lot of time in Hamsterdam.  If you watched "The Wire" you'll recognize that this sounds like life imitating art.

...Now if you'll excuse me, I hear some clanking noise emitting from my basement. I have to go and check to see, if some one is trying to steel my copper pipes again. Which BTW still have water flowing through them.

In 1950, Detroit was the wealthiest city in America on a per capita income basis. Today, the Census Bureau reports that it is the nation's 2nd poorest major city, just "edging out" Cleveland (Go Tribe).

THEN in 1962, Democrats took over.  Now Detroit is the 2nd poorest city.  50 Years of Democrat rule.
