Michael Douglas retracts his statement about oral sex giving him cancer (link inside)

In a candid new interview with U.K.'s The Guardian, Michael Douglas admits that his illness was caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV).

"Without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV, which actually comes about from cunnilingus," the "Behind the Candelabra" star, 68, explains.

Douglas, who fought a six-month battle with the disease from August 2010 until January 2011, also confesses that he thought that his battle with cancer would be a fatal one. He says at first he assumed the stress from his son Cameron's legal troubles played a big factor in his sickness.

"I did worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer," Douglas, who is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, notes. "And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it."

Yes, I saw the article and wondered: Do women appreciate--really and truly appreciate--men going down on them or do they think it's there do? I know that the two providers--one still active--who I pleasured orally were grateful.

Thoughts, anyone?

Many teenage girls have been given the vaccine (my daughter included) to prevent cervical cancer down the road. But as a benefit it prevents HPV infection. Gardasil has been around a few years so there are a lot of girls (even providers I would imagine) in late teens early 20's who are protected. Some MDs also recommend teenage boys to get vaccinated. I don't know if adults can get the vaccine but if possible it may be worth getting. Of course there are other thongs to worry about for Daty like herpes, etc.
