Its more embarrassing knowing that police still cant find the guy/guys that murdered 10 escorts out on long island beaches .LE have nothing better to do with their time  then chase after hobbyist who are just looking for a little companionship  they are hurting no one .go after bank robbers ,murders ,adult or child  abuse ,and leave the innocent  people alone .

The other factor is that in the burbs DA's know that they can win political points by seeming to clean up vice. It's all about family here on LI (where I live). In NYC, I think folks would rather have the DA go after real criminals but in the burbs they love it. A few years back Jeanne Pirro made her career in Westchester by making it seem child predators was the biggest crime problem Westchester faced.
