It's far and few between of the gals that spend some time here in NYC and when they're about to leave they put a little shout out of thanks on the board.

What do you want, a thank you board?
If every provider who visited would post a worthless thank you every time they leave, the board would cluttered with thank you notes that don't mean squat.
They should thank the few they have seen in person.

That would just give you more posts to slobber over.

I am not one of those feminine type hobbyists who will talk for 45 minutes in an hour and bring you flowers but I will pay you and you will earn it. Isn't that the way it is supposed to be?

PB you've made some excellent points, in both this and several other recent threads.  I especially agree with you about how lame this board has become.  

As Hegel said in reply to you above, guys like you could really make some positive changes here if you can invest the effort.  I too have greatly reduced my participation here for the reasons Hegel noted, and would also be glad to see those changes happen.
