Also lots of inns and B&Bs. Just go on nantucket.net and check them out. But it ain't cheap. Nantucket is very high end, as illustrated by the fact that a Benjamin there is known as a "Nantucket Twenty."

Tell me which places you checked. There may be something less pricey. I know the island quite well. Also, while I'm much less familiar with Martha's Vineyard, I think it's less expensive than Nantucket.
Poster is correct about MV, generally lower cost and more choices, It's still off-peak rates.
