I did witness a fair number of mixed drinks being bought, but no bottles of champagne. Interestingly, quite a lot seemed to be exchanged with smartphones?  "Hmmm" I was saying to myself.

Pardon my ineptness. I recently took a visit to the Cabaret Lounge in Peabody. Unlike many strip clubs I have frequented, I witnessed many of the strippers striking up conversations and offering back massages with many a male at the table or at the bar. Are any of these ladies offering more than just plain lap dances, or is there any possibility that some of these ladies are also providers and one must follow codes?

Boy, it's been YEARS since I've been to The Cabaret.  One thing the Boston area clubs had in common back then was that the dancers had a couple of legal ways to make money:  tips while dancing on stage and commissions on selling drinks and champagne at the tables.  A dancer would strike up a conversation with a customer (and maybe a little back rub) and, after the hook was in, a server would come over and ask if you'd like to buy the lady a drink.  She gets an expensive glass of colored water and chats with you for a measured time period (5-10 minutes?).  If you decline to buy the lady a drink, she excuses herself because she has something else to do: move on to the next customer.  Once hooked, they try to get you to pop for a bottle of champagne which costs more but lets you talk uninterrupted for a longer period (30 minutes? 60 minutes?).

I used to watch the ladies nurse their champagne, wait for the guy to get up to take a leak or tip a lady on stage and dump their glasses - or even the remainder of the bottle - into the champagne bucket.  Uh oh! The secret's out!

Back then, I knew a couple of ladies engaged in extracurricular activities but it was kind of rare.  The ones I'm thinking of were kind of kinksters (dommes) and quite possibly made their initial connections outside the club (personal ads) and saw their customers there only additionally or coincidentally.  A lot of girls are willing to strip tease - dance but not cross over into pay-4-play.

(This almost leads to a completely new topic for General: the mindset of the dancer, stripper, nude magazine model, porn star, provider, and so on.)

Back then, table dances and lap dances weren't allowed in the clubs with alcohol.

Things have changed (tell me about it), but I don't know the current story.

The old "buy her a a glass of champagne" for $20 and they give her ginger ale went out with the combat zone. Here is the deal at the Cabaret:

You buy them a drink and you pay the same for hers as yours.
You can order a "small" pitcher of beer for $11-$15 depending on the brand, and it is equal to 2.5 beers.  Thats a good price.
Lap dances are $25 per song. ($5 of it goes to the bouncer). Depending on the girl, the most you get is some good grinding.
You won't get skin to skin contact there.... the bouncers are watching and making sure things don't get out of hand.
You can also get a "massage" in the dance area, but it is nothing special.
No idea if any of the ladies moonlight for more, but if management knew it they would not approve.
Lots of the girls are around 20 years old and can be shy, so if you really want a private dance with her, best to tell her when she is on stage.
The place is real clean these days, you can eat off the floor of the mens room

If you want a clean strip club where you can enjoy watching the ladies or ballgame, have a few beers without draining your wallet, Cabaret is a good place to go.  If you want extra's, this ain't the place.

If you know differently, fill me in! :-)

might want to check posting a couple down from here and send a pm.  He seemed to state there was a little more on the table wherever he was

Backrubs are for a fixed price

No drink cons, but obviously the drinks aren't cheap

dances are usually better days vs nights

I don't know of any providers working there, but doesn't mean they don't.

Good to know. Though not necessarily looking for extras at CL, you did get my curiosity going a bit. What clubs do possibly (definitely?) employ ladies which offer extras?

I actually worked there for 5 years back in the 90's as a "DJ" I played the music , announced the girls and barbacked as well.
I would toss out any girl that was either doing or on drugs as there were a lot of other people that depended on the club as their main source of income. If we got shut down for any reason or for any length of time a lot of people were out a lot of money. I only worked 3 shifts a week but used to bring home $ 180 per shift. (The girls would each tip me 20 and the club paid me 100 in cash)
Anyway my point and opinion are that there are no extras to be had especially inside of the building. What the girls do on their own time is their business but as the old Chris Rock routine said "there is NO sex in the champagne room"!

I grew up near there and never knew it to be a place of extras.. Pretty much a $$ printing machine for the club. They never put up with poor behavior & if the woman felt uncomfortable in the least she'd motion to an enormous bouncer that with 1 sentence let you know your night was over. IF there are any extras, it's definitely off site and the women would need to do that on the extreme DL. If you are looking for a club where it's an option?... there's a great one in CT, 70 min form BOS. I'm not VIP right now and am not comfortable posting in a general board
