G ift cards are great its a gift but it still allows the lady to pick what she needs or wants
I also think that Jewelry is every girls favorite !
A gift card to a jewelry store is " Most Ideal "

If you have a low budget, then I recommend costume jewelry its in style and less expensive !

 Any ideas for a practical but fun gift to give a traveling provider?  
   
 My ATF's birthday is coming up and I hope to give her a gift that's something useful but fun. Back in December I got her high end portable speakers, so she can enjoy music more while traveling.  
   
 She has a wish list on her web site, but I'd still like to see if I can think of something else that would be a surprise. Maybe I'll continue with the speakers theme and get her noise canceling headphones for plane trips. I'll check to see if there's a new and improved version out.

You can find some very nice hand crafted and original pieces using semi-precious stones at various gift shops, gem stores, etc.

It's small, last forever, and very personal.

Don't go for a ring for several reasons, but pendants and necklaces are very safe bets.
