I'll be nice, and just answer Jeff's question.

alright, here's a little run down of ammo.

there are .22's. But there's .22 shorts, .22LR's (which stands for Long Rifle), and a .22 Magnum.

There are handguns that shoot all these calibers. There are rifles that shoot all of them as well.

Beyond that, you have your standard revolver rounds, like .38's, and 357's,your standard pistol rounds like 380's, 9mm, 40's, 45ACP, and your standard rifle rounds, .223, 308, 30-06. (I'm a pistol guy, so that's what I know best.)

One gun will use one caliber it's was designed to shoot. There are a few hand guns that shoot rifle type rounds (the FN 5.7, which will pierce body armor), and a few rifles that shoot pistol rounds (a Tommy Gun shoots 45ACP).

There's a few revolvers that will shoot many different kinds of ammo. My Taurus Judge will shoot 45 Long Colts, and it will also shoot .410 shotgun shells.

If you were buying ammo for 3 different guns, and bought 6,000 rounds, that's nothing.

It was already illegal to carry concealed guns.  Shockingly, this mass-murderer decided to break the law.  I'm sure if we tacked on some more laws prohibiting gun purchase and use it would have stopped him.  That's what we are being told to believe.

Cartfuck and another asshole use the word "shockingly" all the time. Maybe they interchange their TER handles and could use tons of aliases (black and white on TER as well).

No one else posting anywhere on a TER board uses that word but Cartfuck and it's twin or it's other handle.

Refusing to sell 6000 rounds of ammo might have slowed him down, and a report to Chief Oates that Holmes was trying to buy that much ammo could have possibly gotten a search warrent and found whatever the hyperbolic mix of chemicals to make Holmes' bomb in his  pad and taken Holmes off the street and kept him there saving lives and wounds.

Cartfuck, you should ask the media in DC to put you on all the morning shows tomorrow. After a few seconds, they will want to pay you and send a limo to your door. There's still time to get the DC studios of CBS to let Dr. Cartman pre-empt 60 minutes. You're fucking brilliant.

And be sure to tell them that 6000 rounds of ammo for a 100 mag drum, a Glock 40 pistol, and a 12 gauge shot gun ain't shit and shouldn't raise an eyebrow or be reported. It's legal, but only a moron website would sell that much ammo in a short time and not question it.

I bet a spotlght gets on the site that sold the ammo. There are tons of them like

http://www.topammunitionsites.com/

to be sure including good ole Walmart.  And whoever's site sold the ammo whatever the outcome will spend a lot more than what the ammo is worth or the AR-15 costs defending their possibly certified for class lawsuit.

When I go to the range, what I'm doing is practicing my aim. It also takes a long ass fucking time to load a magazine. It's also irritating as hell.

Depending on which pistol I'm practicing on, I will bring 5-8 clips with me, which holds around 70 to 120 rounds. I will go through these in about 5-10 minutes. I will usually spend about 1-2 hours at the range on any given day. I go to the range about twice a week.

Add it up. I've bought 10,000 rounds before, and gone through them in 3 months.

Just curious--When he ordered the rounds for 3 those 4  particular guns, 3 that he used,  he would've had to get different rounds specific to each of those guns wouldn't he? I'm sure there are times when this isn't the case when say a long gun or rifle and a nother gun use the same ammo.

I mean, asking whether or not different guns use different ammo?

shit about doing it and just as you've demonstrated Needleschmutz that you know less than my dogs about medicine, I wouldn 't expect you  to.  And I'd never rag anybody for asking a medical question or expect them to have that much indepth knowledge about anything medical unless perhaps they or someone close to them had been through a particular problem but when 5 or so people here just jump in and spout totally stupid unrealistic made up facts that don't exist and they're medical and have the arrogant chutzpah to push them at somone who has done nothing but medicine after college, I am going to call bullshit on them.

Had someone said, "I hear SV-40 causes cancer--can you take a swing?" That'd be one thing because I know fucking well none of you waltz into a doctor's office you need or pay for and start telling the doc your going to school him in how to treat you and what questions to ask and test to run and when he tries to educate you say "no doc you're a fucking idiot and here's the way it's going to be." I'd expect him to throw your ass out  of his office, or hers but you wouldn't dare do that. You do it here because it gets you off from the safety of your little keyboard.

So not only am I not that interested in guns, I don't give a fuck about them. I do have  experience catching a lot of people who have been shot in the head, face, chest, abdomen, leg, arm, neck or stabbed in those places,  you name it, and it is not a pleasant experience ever to tell someone that their kid, girlfriend, husband, mother, father didn't make it. I remember every one of those in 8 years doing ER. It's also an interesting challenge when somoene gets shot with a teflon bullet or a hollow point to figure out where the bullet has travelled, and what the extent of the injury is before they go to surgery.

So you can jump up and down and jerk yourself off but a lot of us are concerned with stopping Auroras, and there isn't any way that's going to happen.  As I said before both Obama and Mitt-Bot aren't going  to say a fucking thing about ways to control legal gun sales or reduce the chances for a gun massacre or gun homicides, because they don't want to alienate LaPierre or voters, and there is only so much you can do. For Romney that's not much of a change, because he's so scared of his own shadow about commiting to anything under the sun, he's not going to give any details the whole lead up to the election. He has no clue how he'd balance the budget if there were a $500 billion increase in the deficit from increasing tax cuts for the rich.

I have enjoyed Art Kellerman's ( a first rate ER doc around my neck of the woods) research on people who get shot with their own guns under various circumstances most of the time because they're stupid, and  thought it was well done.  It's said that Kellerman's articles caused Congress to strip the CDC of funds to study gun violence.

But you and your wingnut homies here think you know a lot more than an MD or many of them,  and more than the  CDC, and it's pathetic looking to someone to look at the trainwrecks you, Snowman, Cartschmutz, and a few others have posted with not a clue as to what you're saying or how stupid it looks to someone.

I asked about the 4 guns (3 that showed up to the movie that the Aurora shooter used).

So my guess is that different guns take different ammo and some guns of the same type use the same ammo. But I'm not holding my breath until  I find out because you were incapable of answering the question straight up without some sarcastic little inuendo.

What does it take to get in depth knowledge of guns?  Like most things curiosity, interest, experience, a little money to buy some, money for ammo, access to targets or a range somewhere and some friends who might show you the ropes and over time you can learn about guns. And considering the caliber of whackjob here that intimate they know something about them (WillyWonka the exception) it doesn't take much in the way of brainpower to learn a ton about guns. I have friends who  love guns, and I'm not interested in learning at all. Too many other things I want to do.

I can ask someone I'll talk to later whose into guns and get a good answer or I could google around if I felt like it.

You, Snowshit, Jerseyputz, and Cartscmuck remind me of the legislature here. Not one of them were MDs. They wanted to pass a law to restrict abortions to 20 weeks and after that no abortions in the widespread effort to chip away at Roe or to develop a test case to take down Roe.  A gamut of the best OBGYNs and Neonatologists came down and testified as to how dangerous it was for the mother and that many situations that threaten the mother can't be diagnosed as early as 20 weeks--that they may take  another 4 or 5 before they know if they need to abort the baby for the mother's safety or to save her.  After hearing a lot of testimony along those lines, the 2 morons who sponsored the bill who aren't doctors and couldn't get into a med school to save the dicks in their ears, proclaimed that some of the best OBs and Perinatologists in several states didn't know what the fuck they were talking about when it came to OB and perinatology. It seemed fucking crazy, because that's what these docs do for a living and the two lawyer legislators couldn't get into med school if they had to, or at the least had never been.

The law passed, and now there will be several deaths from sepsis and disseminated intravasculat coagulation with certain maternal diseases or fetal demise,  not diagnosed by 20 weeks because it doesn't always show up that early, and plaintiff's lawyers will get rich. The trend has been for GOP legislatures to criminalize safe medical care, and patients will suffer.  Sooner or later this will be the wife of a GOP legislator or a daughter or a close friend, and then maybe a lightbulb will go on but I doubt it would.

That's the trainwreck kind of crazyshit chutzpah I've witnessed here today all because several of you aren't happy with a Democratic President, and know that unless by a miracle you could control the Senate, you're not going to realize your wetdream of repealing anything until someone carts you off to a funeral home so you're angry and you've annoited yourselves experts in infesctious disease, medicine, and with one idiot proclaiming that pediatric cancer has exponentially increased the past 50 years because of SV-40 and at the same time that I made up the Pertussis problem that is currently growing in this country and actually has been reported in every major newspaper, and every major network. I don't know about Fox because I don't watch it but the last time I checked News Corp and Murdoch do own the  WSJ and I do read that except for the editorial page which is as batshit crazy with Peggy Noonan others as it gets--like IBD's editorials. Both of the editorial pages look like the wingnuts ravings on this board.

When Scootsie Libby was convicted, the WSJ never did one single story mentioning the trial but every other paper of any significance covered it. That's a kind of censorship you see in Banana Republics and as far as a right wing paper is concerned, the US is a banana republic where the wingnuts want to impose a plutocracy even against there own interest and take care of the 1% and fuck themselves, the rest of the middle class, and the poor.

I'm betting they don't get to do that.

Only a fucking idiot does'nt know shotgun shells don't fit in pistols.

what I want to know.  You think I need to kiss your ass to answer a simple question? LOL I asked Wonk and he either is off here or doesn't want to answer--probably the first.

I'll get the answers I want soon enough, but this is on the web. Because it's on the web sure doesn't make it correct, but maybe it is and I'll find out.

.22 revolver ammo same as .22 rifle ammo?
"I have a .22 revolver rg14 and i was wondering if the .22 rifle ammo will fit the revolver? please let me know thanx

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters
There are several types of 22 caliber ammo. There is short, long, long rifle and magnum. The first three will fit into any 22 caliber weapon but for the magnum the weapon hasto be chambered for them. There is no difference between 22 rifle and pistol ammo. They're both the same. Good luck to you

It's possible the answer is as dumb on guns as you and the rest of your buddies here are on medicine, but maybe not.And it's really hard to conceive 5-6 guys who are so arrogantly sure of themselves who don't have a fucking  clue what they're talking about would exist, yet you do.  And that one of you would read one article from the SF newspaper and paraphrase it almost verbatim in a convoluted manner, think because it mentioned NIH and a researcher many years ago who had an interesting idea but she was proved totally wrong (that happens) and subsequently NIH spent a lot of time and money studying SV-40 and a link to cancer extensively and found absolutely none.

The same is true for vaccines and autism, but for whatever reason right wingnuts think vaccines are a plot to get them, just as a standard garden variety schizophrenic who hears voices admitted every night to a teaching hospital psych ward might tell you that people are putting speaker systems into their heads that tell them to do things.  In your case maybe it's a dude putting a big dick in your ass however.

My dogs *have* absorbed a lot more clinical medicine though then you will ever know and they aren't albatrossed by stupid delusions like  the one that there is no Pertussis epidemic in the US now, or the halariously stupid notion that there has been a dramatic peak for 50-60 years in all pediatric neoplasms because of SV-40 in the polio vaccine. That's the craziest fucking idea I've ever heard, and I gaven Jersey Clueless the opportunity to call one of the best pediatric hospitals in Jersey where his question would be answered by a hotline but he drooled all over himself.

And the imbecilic idea that I'd lie to you about a serious question is pretty funny as well.

You never asked me a question. You've always done exactly what the morons in our legislature did with the abortion law.  They knew nothing about OB, and after asking OBs to teach them, they had the unmitigated stupidity to say their Right Wingnut VIPness entitled them to proclaim the OBGYNs who had been doing it for years knew nothing about OB.

That's the arrogance and stupidity of the right wing in every area.

Lowering taxes, and American Tax completely non-partisan calculates it will cost $540 billion or raise the deficit, and Romney and Ryan completely ignore it, pretending that they can somehow make it up by lol closing tax loopholes that they have no intention of closing, and even if they did it wouldn't be a drop in the bucket towards making up the enormous sum of $540 billion that upping the  Bush tax cuts for the rich would cause.

Using those loopholes is exactly why Romney is pissing in his pants and Ann is pissing in hers over releasing even one year's FBar to "you people" whom she means are the scum of the earth.

It's going to cost Romney the election--not the returns per se, but his arrogance, sweeping generalizations "I'm going to restore freedom back to America"--very Palinesque,  is now being absorbed in the swing states and older people understand that the voucher system Ryan has puppeted Romney to accept would fuck them totally if they had either

a) a serious chronic medical illness which of course many  of them have and get more of
b) the need for a significant surgery like a CABG or a valve replacement or any of the spectrum of surgeries that are done every day in every busy OR.

I have to say that it's one thing to have ideas about which direction the CDC should research in but a hilarious other one for a bunch of lay yahoos to say the CDC is making stuff up and they don't know anything about infectious disease.  That's an amazing amalgam of arrogance and ignorance united like Siamese twins.

I've never fired a gun in my life but I was quite aware that different ammo is needed for different guns for oh so many obvious reasons.  I won't even mock you becaue you just make it so damn easy.

and you and your gang of bozos have claimed the CDC makes things up, and every major network makes things up and there are five year olds with more medical insight, fictional links between vaccines and autism where none exist, huge cancer spikes in pediatric oncology where none exist lol secondary to SV-40 in polio vaccines, and claimed the NIH signed off on a concept that's 52 years old and has been disproven by multiple large studies for over 20 years because it was on a website of the SF Chronicle.  It's one thing to be in denial, and another to be in denial and claim one of the foremost infectious disease organizations in the world doesn't know what it's talking about and that there is no Pertussis epidemic when every major news organization has covered it althoug you Cartscmutz have denied that.  Fortunately you don't make any medical decisions except stupid ones that apply to you.  And SV-40 aside, the polio vaccine has been significantly tweaked for safety  since 1997 reducing the 10 people a year who got VAPP (vaccine associated paralytic polio) by 70%.

I never made any posts concerning the CDC.  I really don't know what you are talking about. I was just goofing on you for believing in universal bullets.  I'm just following the thread and you're following little green men or whatever the hell it is you see in your padded room.  You should do yourself a favor and just stay off this board.  It seems to be negaively affecting you.

But given your history I can understand how Mr. NeedleDick would interpret your reply to willy the way he did. You’ve had a couple of other posts that weren’t riddled with your usual venom, but this one was particularly open and honest, IMO. It’s refreshing to witness your admission here but it still does not play well considering your previous firearm admonitions based on a now self admitted lack of knowledge regarding same.

For reference, there are many firearms by different manufacturers and different design that will chamber the same cartridges. Some of the designs that chamber the same cartridge are even quite different in purpose. In fact there is a rifle that looks nearly the same as an AR-15 yet chambers the 9mm x 19mm (parabellum or Lugar) cartridge. The 9mm cartridge is used in the most popular semi-automatic pistols. There are also 9mm assault machine pistols (i.e sub machine gun, e.g. HK MP5).

and that the TV media will go through motions for a few days, not a fucking thing will be done, and the Auroras will replicate and multiply more frequently for a panoply of reasons.

Needle Dick, Snow, Cartman, NuGuy, and several others have spent the last few hours uttering total medical delusion and fiction, with not a scintilla of knowledge to do so, and not a clue that everything they said about Pertussin, Polio vaccine, SV-40 causing a 50 year dramatic rise in childhood cancer when it has nothing whatsoever to do with childhood cancer, and the NIH has proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

It is exactly analagous to state legislators ignoring OBGYN warnings that serious threats to a pregnant woman (who they probably term a MILF) will happen when abortion is restricted to 20 weeks when life threatening conditions for the mother can't often be diagnosed until 25-26 weeks.

Among them are life threatening infection an a bleeding disorder that is also life threatening.

As for vaccines, I made the true statement in *another thread that we have an epidemic in 2012 in the US of Pertussis deaths because ignorant people withold vaccines from children, and in some cases adults who should get them per CDC guidelines.  The morons here who know less medicine than my dogs immediately proclaimed I was lying' that no major print and TV media has covered it(although not enough) when all major media has covered it but reading and the morons are strangers, and that the CDC knows nothing about infectious disease but having had no training at all they do.

Several of the clueless crue here spitting epithets resurrected 60+ year old research that has long been debunked by a woman named Eddy that alleged SV-40 that was in polio vaccines in 1950's research caused a huge increase in pediatric cancers for 6 decades. That's the most moronic idea I've seen in a long time, and several current large multicentered studies debunked the fuck out of that fiction. It's a common battle cry from GOP stupids, and it's total delusional fiction.

It's the  Republican pattern. Mitt-Bot, the hapless puppy dog of Paul Ryan, wants to voucher Medicare which would make it impossible for patients to afford major surgery or medical care for chronic diseases of all stripes, and to increase Bush tax cuts for the wealthy which would generate a $540 billion increase in the deficit, i.e. gynormous irresponsible government spending of the very type they lie and say the Dems push.

Hope that straightens you out but I understand well the obstinate ignorance that's the trademark of conservatives.

She said the AR-15 was her favorite rifle. She also said she was going pheasant hunting. No where did she come close o evenimply she was going to use the rifle to hunt pheasants. Anyone with a modicum of gun knowledge realizes how silly that sounds.

No where did I disparage vacines. Yet as you conflated Bachmann's comments, you also conflate mine with others on this board.

You suffer from the bigotry often seen in those at the extremes of the political spectrum.

Are you deaf as well as stupid?

Nowhere in that piece does Michelle Bachman say, claim, or even insinuate that she hunts pheasant with an AR-15.

You're lying and making things up.

Your responses are typical of the ignorant, anti-gun people.

And also, as usual, your responses become full of bile and puke about  the "medical universe", which has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Well, you have a sucka** bed side manner, and if you talk to your patients or staff the way you talk here, getting better acquainted with the fundamentals of self protection might be something you should look into.

alright, here's a little run down of ammo.

there are .22's.

What the heck is that giant blue one and what would it be used for??

I dunno about the big blue one, but the smaller blue one goes in this.

It kills tanks.

I believe that big blue one goes into guns that are usually mounted on US naval ships.

By the way, two rounds left of that, the 50 BMG is the most accurate sniper round in history. It can hit a bullseye from a mile away.

This is what it's like to shoot one of those rounds.

Yeh, AR-50's are fun. I got to shoot one once. Fun times.

and I asked the question to learn which is far different Willy than ignoramuses who asserted there is no Pertussis epidemic when there sure as hell  is one and I've linked to it from CDC, and the WSJ and CBS to name a few sources.

SV-40 has not caused any cancer, and has never caused an exponential increase over the last 6 decades in pediatric cancers. That's just plain crazy and false.

Any depressed, introverted, disenfranchised, conspiracy theory addled fucktard knows that standing up in a public square and taking aim at innocents with a weapon will quickly get your ass shot clean off in states like Texas, Kentucky, Idaho, Florida, etc etc. Any state or a province that proactively disarms its populace are barrels full of fish for the One in a Hundred Million “aberration” too seek mayhem upon.

 I wonder?
What if we just passed a gun law saying that if you were found guilty of using a gun in the most felonious of ways, and incorporated large capacity magazines for the intent of extended mayhem and murder your fate would be so gruesome the Devil would need to cover his eyes.

What a bunch of bizarre yammering.  You don't have any idea what was going on in that kid's head although whatever it was was sick. And the massacre could have easily happened in any state you named.  He wasn't in a public square anyway; he was in a movie theater with a camouflate and his friends said he seemed perfectly normal when they were with him all week although we know he wasn't.

Bottom  line neither Mitt-Bot or Obama is going to touch gun policy and Auroras will become more frequent.  A army psychiatrist, Major Nidal Hisan, at Fort Hood Texas mowed down 12 soldiers and one civilian in 2009,  and the Army could do nothing to stop it.  You want to argue that the Army was unarmed at Ft. Hood? I wouldn't be surprised if you're delusional enough to do so. That would be a backdrop for some popcorn.

when compared to the language in the Second Amendment.

You're NOT going to confiscate 350+million guns, and you don't legislate 2/3 of the American public as criminals for owning them. You set strict/harsh penalties for criminal use & misuse of guns, and then you enforce them!

Bullshit. Live in NJ, and try to get a carry permit. Ain't gonna happen. If you have a legal and valid carry permit from any other state, and enter the NJ state lines, you will be disarmed by the local authorities, as your permit is not recognized in NJ. Fail to make yourself known to authorities that you are carrying when you enter, and if caught, you will be disarmed, and go immediately to jail, until your trial.

Oh, and the Army? Unless you are a member of the military police, and you are on duty, you WILL NOT BE ARMED. If you are required to attend qualifying shooting at the range, you will not be given ammunition until you are at the firing range. You think everyone in uniform walks around all day on a military installation, carrying an M-16, Beretta 9mm, or 1911? No fucking way. Military Police response time is the same as civilian police.....after the fact.
