"Lady-boys" in Hong Kong?

I've been in HK for a few days, and followed some of you old Asia hands' advice, resulting in some great fun here.

Tonight was a different story: I was out on Luard Road, by the Amazonia bar/disco, and noticed a tall, pretty Asian lady waiting around for someone.  Long story short: I said hello, and she agreed to come to my hotel room a couple of blocks away.  After some chit-chat, I begin to take off her clothes.  She stops me and says, "You know I 'lady-man', right?"

Ummmmmmmm.......no.  NO!!!  I did NOT!!!  I asked "her" to leave, but not after she kept 750 of the 1000 HKD I'd given her.

I had done my research, spending weeks on TER and other Web sites about HK, corresponding with HK veterans, etc.  And, nowhere did I see ANY references to transsexuals here.  My "lady" said that there are lots of "lady-boys" here and that that corner had several of them.  

Anyone else have such an experience?  I'm not judging TS's; it's just not my cup of tea, and I'm frustrated and angry that I let myself get swindled into losing essentially $100 (USD)

I picked up a lady-boy by accident in Singapore a few years ago. Her height and big feet should have been a red flag. When in doubt, ask "her" what she is and hope for an honest answer! There's a web site that I've seen (don't recall it, though), which is a test. It has bunch of photos of katoeys (the Thai name for 'em) as well as real women and you're supposed to pick them out. I flunked!

BTW, we expect a full report when you return!

I go to different places in Asia and was wondering if there are any surgical scars or any way to determine whether the 'lady' you pick up was ever a guy.  Many ladyboys have had the penis removed. If no scars and if they don't tell you I guess it is impossible to tell?  I don't know much about the operation but I can tell by the shows in Bangkok that many remove it, perhaps getting a void instead?

A follow-up to this story:

The next night, I was out in the same area and hooked up with a nice Chinese lady who came back to my hotel for a nice, three-hour session.  She was very outgoing, talked a lot.  At one point--COMPLETELY unprompted by me, and totally unaware that I'd had a run-in with a "lady-boy" the night before, since I had not mentioned it--she said, "You have to be careful.  Many lady-boy here.  They look like lady, but they have cock.  Many Thai lady-boy.  Many in Holiday Inn bar."  

So, a word to the wise in Wan Chai: If that's your cup of tea, you can find them.  If it's not your cup of tea, then be careful! :)

just my luck ive been trying to find very passable lady boy in michigan area for quite awhile now  and your finding them by accident  some guys have all the luck  if you might know of any touring my area or living in my area please let me know thanks
