I would feel very comfortable with this gentleman as he KNOWS his status, takes precautions to ensure that he does not pass it along, has experience reading his body and symptoms, and is up front and honest...
much safer than the asymptomatic shedder or the individual who just holds too much shame to share this important information.

I saw this come up briefly in the online chat last week.

A client had to cancel his appointment with a provider because he had a herpes outbreak, and was currently shedding virus, as the terminology goes.

Providers, if it was you, would you ever see the client again, or would that knowledge end it?

Would it change your answer if they client assured you that they would always take one of the medications that prevents outbreaks and contagion starting at least a week before any potential appointment?

Clients aren't the only ones at risk...

Remember, 1 in 5 Americans has genital herpes.  Most of them don't know it.  It's the ones who are aware who can protect against it.

Most of my regulars are educated, mature and responsible. They would see a physician immediately if anything was wrong.

Since herpes is easily treated with Valtrex or other meds, sure, I'd definitely see a client in the future after he was treated.
