Unions are not a union. Unions are parasitic.

Unions produce nothing.  No products or services of any kind.  They create no wealth.  They employ no people.  They pay no wages, salaries or benefits of any kind.  They pay no taxes.  They invest none of their own money.  In short, they are parasites.  Feeding off the lifeblood of others.  And as far as I'm concerned, we have enough parasites already.

They started out at a time when Communism was taken seriously as a form of government.  Over time, as Communism declined here, unions crawled out from under Socialism of any kind and was adopted by organized crime.  Like both Communism and Organized Crime, unions are parasitic by history, their associations and their very nature of exploiting the working class by adding an unnecessary level of middle management.  And as far as I'm concerned, we have enough middle management already.

Unions are presently at an all time low.  A level where they don't really matter anymore as an artificial entity.  But if the remaining pathetic 5% were dealt a soul crunching blow, it would be nice.  If the rest of the playing field were leveled, the other 95% will only benefit.  Not an entitlement to a few, but a benefit to all.

Speaking of parasites , how about the many corporations who pay little or no taxes ?

In my professional opinion, the OP is nuts-----:(

Fair Use, you're just pissing in the wind. American public strongly against "union busting".

Face it, this is one battle that you're gonna lose.

You can run but you can't hide, baby.

First of all, unions began to organize early in the 19th century, long before Marx and Engels imagined communism.  Communism did not begin "to be taken seriously"  until the late 19th and early 20th century.
Second, unions actually do produce something (or at least they used to): higher wages and benefits for their members.  As for producing goods for sale (or the other criteria you cite), of course they don't, but if that's your criterion to avoid being labeled a parasite, then you'd have to include all forms of government, the church, our armed forces, the police and fire fighters.  In other words, those things that are the underpinnings for civil society.
So, to be consistent, you'll have to live off the grid in some kind of bunker.  Happy hobbying from there!

They do not produce a damn thing useful but do produce death and destruction all over the world. History is filled with their destructive activity for 1000's of years.

"Man made religion, Man and Religion together made God, Man, Religion and God together divided the land, Man religion, God and the divided earth made an armory out of man's mind".

"Religion has nothing to do with GOD and GOD has nothing to do with religion".

god and they willingly participate in religious activities. There is no god!

One of my fondest memories happened many years ago when I was approached by a street-corner evangelist trying to bring me "closer to God."  I went on a rant about how more people in human history had been murdered, tortured and robbed in  the name of God than for any other reason.  Poor guy actually started to cry.

I already wrote (on another thread) how I feel about unions, so I won't go into it again here, suffice to say they "ain't as great as they used to be."

But, I will say this: Yes, let's do away w/ most forms of government & churches. Social underpinnings? Bah, humbug! More like social leechings. Most of either do nothing but take and take and take; what they give back isn't worth the paper their actions are printed on.

The armed forces, police & firemen may not produce goods for sale, but they are productive in that they defend - as in not allow anyone to use force or fraud against - those who do produce the goods for sale. Some murderer or con artist takes away a life or a life's work, then the armed forces, police & firemen are there to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'm socially liberal insofar that I believe everyone has the right to live their life as they choose, but fiscally conservative insofar that I believe that however we live our lives we need to pay for ourselves. As I've said before, that makes me too liberal for the conservatives and too conservative for the liberals. I expect to pay for the things I can't produce (I'm no farmer and can't fix a computer or car), but I expect to get paid for what I do produce (including but not limited to pleasure as a provider).

I'm not deep as far as politics in general go, but what I do know, I know well enough to get me through the day-to-day living.

The American middle class would not exist without unions. And as union membership has declined, so has the American middle class....as it turns out...almost in perfect proportion. So this is what unions produce: a better economy for everyone.

But since you're talking about parasites, in 2009 Bank of America paid ZERO taxes. Actually, it's worse. 43% of their profits came from US tax payer dollars while earning 4 and a half billion dollars. Bank of America isn't alone. 83 of the top 100 corporations in the United States paid NO taxes through various loopholes, or hiding profits overseas. This despite that they take up valuable government resources using the courts to enforce their contracts, and the legislature to fill their coffers with plenty of corporate welfare.

...I will reply:

I agree completely with your statement with BofA.  I would only differ in that I would say BofA is every bit the parasite of unions in general.  I don't think unions have anything to do with a middle class in recent history, or your measurement of middle class.  But, if anything, your assessment of BofA is too kind.

BofA is one huge abortion clinic of finance.  If you were protesting them, I'd join.

"Define parasite for us. "

A parasite is usually a organism living off the host body, sucking nutrients to insure its reproduction and survival, while offering no long term benefit.
A parasite is dependent on a close relationship with it host for survival.
A parasite will often not harm the victim on initial contact, however if left unchecked the parasite will usually multiply, and suck all strength out of the host.
Eat healthy, sleep well,be productive at your job,are three ways to help keep parasites, from  taking over your life.
